Alright just a quick warning. This game is very challenging and was designed to be a bit of a speedrun/rage game. The second area is technically completely optional. If you get stuck, try fighting another boss or looking for more powerups. the "R" reload actually loads last save so you don't have to complete the game in a single sitting. Lastly, be sure to save after bosses lest you lose your progress.
