i love the game. but there are things i cant figure out. sorry if im stupid but how do containers connect to the core to be an extra storage? and i cant seem to find where thermal generators can be placed.

if the containers are adjacent to the core they will share their items and thermal generators can be placed on glowing magma tiles like this:
