I had actually initially planned to have a full combat system when I was first thinking of making Vertegraz, but time limits meant I never made the systems it'd need - probably for the best.
Similiarly, I planned for the player to have to explore in sections, starting at the legs and working up the body of Vertegraz, unlocking new paths and encountering new entities. That's still in the works, though...

The only thing I would ask is that you provide a link to Vertegraz within the article itself - I didn't see one in my readthrough of your article.
