I think the new character sprite is kind of overdone. The movement is quite... fake and unnatural. To be honest, I prefer the old character sprite and movement.
Also, I don't know if that is just me or there is more offset in input. I feel like It takes longer for the character to make the next action compared to previous version. It make fighting and dodging harder, thus the game harder, especially the bear boss. The character feels "heavier". 
One last thing I notice is that, in this version the player seems to be allowed to climb walls...? I'm not sure if that is intended or not. I hope it is though. It add a layer of flavor to the action in the game. And I hope future level layout can integrate such feature. And maybe collectible upgrades to give player the ability to double jump or others stuff.

It is a bug but now that you mention it, that would indeed be a cool mechanic. Might just make it into a feature lol
