"FATE SEALED"
The game was longer than I anticipated.
I had a lot of fun playing. The game sounds good and looks great, I really like the visuals of the environments especially of the 5th level, the style is pretty consistent and nice, the tentacle monster of the last level looks cool and I also like that the game features quite some visual effects for the different spell effects and traps, combat visual feedback is good and the game feels extra lively for that (although the gameplay itself is dynamic too). The game controls well, I like that you can use either the number keys or your mouse to cast spells, it's organic and I think I actually used both when playing. The turn-based combat works pretty well for the game, the different enemies are different and the spell system is super engaging, I specially like the different areas of effect, different costs in mana and cooldowns and that the two kinds are not technically correlated (even if very strong spells will naturally cost a lot of both). Since enemies' life is not that big, which is a good thing, stunning effects (root traps, freezing) were not that relevant during my run but I still think they're completely worth being there because they're cool. Killing several enemies with one single spell is super satisfying. The difficulty is perfect for the context of the jam, which is a big plus to me.
I got stuck behind an altar in the very beginning of the level 5 at first, had to kill myself to restart the level.
This is a great entry, thanks for sharing.
