I haven't bought this but why are so many people begging for steam keys, it's no different and you're looking fishy.

Because this platform is like a kickstarter, why should people pay twice for what they already have? These people have already supported the developer and it's not fair. The steam and itch versions are different, that is, the itch version will be left without many of the features that appeared in the steam version.

itch.io will still get the same updates just more later than the steam page. and steam is there for some people that are on apple or chrome devices.

multiplayer isnt possible on the itch version as the multiplayer will be running on steams api. giving out keys to anyone that bought the game on a different service would be against steams tos as he would be avoiding the 30% cut.

Against tos? Where you got that from? If that was the case so many other devs who have given away keys to itch.io supporters, resell them via humblebundle, inc triple A studios, would be in breach of this “tos”.
