Yes, he's dead! Shadowfall was Stormsong's father. He died when she was a kit from a mysterious illness that Stormkit believed she caused because she was a bad omen. That's why she ran away. (If you're kidding and you actually remembered, then my response is: "You didn't know your crush is dead?" lol)
