How do you know this/has this happened on a game you purchased before? I'm more specifically curious about the time of "1 to 2 weeks."

Yeah. Happened to me and Freyada has explained it befor. I also got this game on discount and every time there is an update I have to wait about 2 weeks to be able to play. $10 tier allows you to play on release, $5 tier means you own the same as the $10 tier but you dont have the benefit of playing early
