Thanks for checking out the update! It means a lot!

The barriers are new. I’m glad you liked them. Someone mentioned that the points where the zombies would spawn were too obvious and in the way of the player at times so I made extra hallways for the zombies to spawn in and barriers to hold them back until they are broken. This and the sound helped with the feel of the game tremendously. I also added the ability to take more than one hit before resetting the scene, and knock back which I feel has made the gameplay feel much better.

Thank you for your feedback on my submission. I just wanted to let you know that I took your advice and used some free sounds, implemented the sound effect and made some changes to the gameplay. I would love to hear your opinions on my most recent update.

You gave great feedback on my original submission. I implemented a few of your suggestions and I would love to hear your opinions on my most recent update. I still have much work to do and never enough time to do it. but feedback like yours really keeps me pushing in my development. Thank you.

I absolutely agree. I will be adding a lot more to this game after the voting period ends.

Thanks for playing my game! Don’t forget to check it out after the future updates.

I’ll be looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Thanks for the detailed feedback.

I implemented the zombie respawn mechanic last minute to fit the theme “short on time”.  Currently, if the player takes longer than a specific undisclosed amount of time in a level, zombies will start spawning at set points around the map every 5 seconds until the player is overwhelmed or the level is beaten. I wanted to take this further and make better spawn points like you suggested, I just ran out of time. This will be something I add after the voting period is over.

For the zombie aggression after taking damage, I had this planned but I must’ve overlooked it while I was scrambling to submit and get to bed. This will also be something I add after the voting period is over.

Thanks for the tip on locking the mouse to the window! I didn’t even think about that during my frantic jam session. I will definitely be looking into that and while I’m at it I will make a custom crosshair cursor.

Thanks so much for playing!

Edit: The shadow effect was actually much more simple than I initially thought it would be. Godot did all the heavy lifting for this. Here is Godot’s tutorial on it: https://docs.godotengine.org/en/3.1/tutorials/2d/2d_lights_and_shadows.html

I enjoyed the simple yet speedy nature of this game.  And I love the enemy sprites.

I appreciate the feedback! I will be updating the game with sound effects and other things after the voting period ends as to not create any unnecessary confusion.

Thanks for playing.

Just exported and uploaded a Linux build. Please enjoy and let me know what you think.

Yes  Windows.

Edit:  Just uploaded a Linux build

I didn't know that. it's too bad I missed it. Yeah I agree, I wish I had the time and energy for sfx. I had planned on tweaking the zombies view distance but I ended up being too tired to continue so I just whipped up a few levels and submitted it. Thanks for playing.

Glad you did.

This concept was my first thought when I read the theme but I couldn't make it feel the way I wanted so I went for a different idea. Well done, I'm glad someone ended up with a playable version of this idea.

Thank you, I really enjoy the pixel art I have been working with in this one so I definitely plan on continuing this project.

I appreciate it!

I enjoyed this very much. The sweat particles were a fabulous touch.
