Hello,
My name is Ad and I am a programer that has been developing a 2D exploration roguelite game. I put an add a few weeks ago looking for someone to join my team to help create art, however, there were not many replies. As such, I am now looking to pay for a freelance pixel artist, to work on the game with me. That said, the offer still stands if any artist wants to join my team/studio as a collaborator, rather than freelancer.
A little bit about the game so far:
The game is inspired by No Mans sky, where players can seamlessly fly through space, find different planets, land on them, and explore.
The weapon upgrading system is inspired by Noita, using combinations of modules that attach to the player's multitool.
To help create a universe worth of solar systems and planets, I use procedural generation. That said, each solar system has a string of hand-made planets, where the main story progression unfolds from. Circling the hand-made planets are the optional procedural planets - useful places to find additional enemies and to grind recourses.
Progression is currently leaning towards the rougelite genre, where by collecting the currency "pixel dust" from enemies, bosses and puzzles, you upgrade your multitool and fuel your ship, hoping from planet to planet, solar system to solar system, with the ultimate goal, arriving at the center of the universe.
A little bit about me:
I am a self taught game developer from the UK. I am by no means an expert game developer, however, I have been learning Unity for the last 4 years, and started working on this game, 1 year ago.
About you
I am looking for a 2D pixel artist to create assets for my game. I have uploaded a video which shows a demo solar system, with planets and simple enemies. Other than the planet shapes, all art is either placeholder assets, or something I tried to create myself. If you like what you see, get in touch with me (comment or email: ademkemalhilmi@gmail.com) with some examples of your work and your rates. I am funding this myself so my budget is not huge , however, this would be regular monthly work. The game is still in early development, and the video is just a snippet of where I am, but I work on the game every day!
Thanks for reading!
