This is a great take on the theme as well as pinball!!! Love the concept, and the artstyle. It’s on point. The story and sounds double that charm, although the controls do take a bit getting used to between mouse and keyboard .. oh,, I totally forgot there was slo-mo while playing :’)

Hey, first of all - a HUGE THANK YOU for this playthrough!!! It gave me so sooo many pointers to improve (I’ve noted down at least 15 of them).

The “…like people should have babies., and…” had me laughing hard lol - but yeah, fair point. I need to figure out the balance.

Really sorry about the mythical population tiredness part. I totally get that not having a HUD for that is super annoying. The idea was to limit the number of units since the game started lagging when too many were on screen - it was a quick solution for the jam due to lack of optimization. I do plan to revamp that!

Again, a massive thank you - this kind of helpful advice is rare to get, especially with live commentary and reactions. I’ll definitely let you know once I’ve addressed everything (and then some more). Please keep making these videos. Subscribed!

This game feels really good to play, especially the spiders logic work! That is GREAT. A job well executed.

Ah that makes sense. It did get me some time to figure out. Plus, it looks like it lags after clicking flip button via UI or E key.

This is more fun than it looks, though beware, it does get pretty challenging over time. Getting killed by a Combo of 2x Anxiety + 2x Depression doesn’t help either xD :(

I wish there was a fast forward button to skip/speed up as the animations can get repetitive pretty soon.

This is a REALLY well-done DOOM style boomer shooter game!! As much as I’d love to complete it, I don’t have the guts to do so lol.

Great entry on all aspects. Some feedback would be to make the damage done to player or enemy a bit clearer/pop and a bit easier to use the ammo and other items. But for a game jam experience, great work as always (after our Curtain Chaos collab) xD

I loved playing this kind of games as a kid, it was fun hunting for treasures buried deep!! It does have a slow pace but I guess that’s by design. Nice work!

P.S Please enable a full screen mode as I needed to zoom out the tab to see all contents at once on a 1080p laptop display.

After playing this, I’ve learned one thing - I really need to up my typing game!! :(((

Got a score of 1271 (got stuck in the last image for quite a long time since there was soo much to see xD). Guess you can see some unique things while looking for cats ahem

Definitely one of the most unique entries I’ve seen so far!! I lost and won at the same time, not sure what happened but both blinked for a sec or two, so I guess I’ve unlocked a hidden achievement there xD

Jokes aside, this could be a great learning gamified experiences for people to understand topography all the while having fun if I say so, possibly with real maps!

P.S. There is some issue with the resolution/aspect ratio as I can’t see the whole game at once and the bottom part is cut off completely in full screen.

I didn’t get the concept completely, and there were some parts where I couldn’t go back from without dying. Plus, I can move faster than the bullets if I shoot them while running!! Is that a hidden feature xD?

As always, a great entry with an even better art style and polished execution. Nothing left to be said. Fantastic job!

P.S. Go the Crab Bros or something ending., had a nice clickty clakity battle there. =D

P.P.S The LDJam link on itch.io has correct url text but wrong url - it points at you LD56 jam entry.

First of all., the screenshots don’t do the game justice!! PLEASE update the game page with media from actual game. It’s GOOD. Love how the art just keeps getting better and better, along with those floaty acceleration (which does need some getting used to), this makes for a fun experience.

Music is also on point, not too much, not too little, thought it could use a bit more flavour in each level.

Ultimately, reached the jungle on first try and then just gave up after dying to the flying dino multiple times. Makes me want to try again to see how the next level would look! A little adjustment to the difficulty curve related with second level as base would be great. Kudos!

I came thinking it’d be a fast-paced game!! It did definitely took me by surprise but not in a bad way!! It’s chill, it’s relaxing but don’t let that fool you, else you won’t be able to go too deep!

It does need some polishing with the movements and selection, maybe 3D grid-based movement could be better but can’t say for sure. Good job though!!

Hey this is really fun to play! Reminds me of the old egg basket games combined with brick breaker.

Got the 5th rank in the 3rd try, yayy xD P.S. - Bonus points for the Credits mini game!! THAT IS GENIUS!!

Nothing much to add on the already excellent points & feedback mentioned earlier by the others!

But yeah, guess this is what 2 sleepless nights does to a person. I too did a 20hr+ development marathon myself when the idea clicked to me, and I just COULDN’T STOP! Well, good luck for the steam release!!

UPDATE: Got DM in reddit this time, with the link’s matching the Discord scammer’s username. Mods please have a look and ban this guy! His reddit - https://www.reddit.com/user/Megalordow/

Tower Defense. Rogue-lite. Population is your resource.

You sacrifice people to summon units — Thieves, Knights, Red Knights — to hold off relentless enemy waves. But every choice drains the one thing that keeps your kingdom alive.

Then, halfway through, the genre flips.

You summon the King, and the game becomes a platformer where you fight alongside your summoned units!

Your Prophecy, Written by You. Each run reveals a fragment of fate — a prophecy untold — five lines, shaped by your morality, choices, and sacrifices.

A Kingdom Measured in Lives.

Created solo in 72 hours for Ludum Dare 57 (Theme: “DEPTHS”)

Would love your feedback or thoughts — and I’d be thrilled if you gave it a go!

Play it here: https://agrmayank.itch.io/you-are-the-end

Sounds great! Thank you. 🎉

Hi, thanks for featuring Tail of 9 Lives on the website—really appreciate it!

I noticed that the document is an older version; I had uploaded a newer one with extra screenshots and details in the PDF. If updating it is possible, that’d be great, but no worries if not!

Would also love to see any videos or pictures of people playing in the event. Wishing you all the best for a fantastic festival! 🎉

Thanks! I’ve uploaded a new build with all the cat tarot cards implemented, along with bug fixes, the win condition, and updated documentation. I’m excited to hear everyone’s feedback and see how it turns out! 😸

Hi,

  • The Tower card grants the Jump ability.
  • The Chariot card grants the Dash ability.

Unfortunately, only 9 out of the 22 card functionalities could be implemented in time, namely: The Sun, The Moon, The Star, The Tower, Death, Strength, The Chariot, The Empress, and The Fool, as shown in the attached screenshot.

So, some cards may do nothing at the moment. Also, there is a bug with the win condition.

If you’d like, I’d be more than happy to share a new build with some fixes. Thank you!

Considering the design choices behind the original, what if we used the cross-media bar as the foundation and add some acceleration?

That would solve the discoverability issue, be compatible with both keyboard and controllers, and eliminate those super long wait times from the original!

One of the best games in this jam with a brilliant design.

Thanks! The pickups increase your “Energy” based on their rarity — Common, Uncommon, and Rare. The rarer the pickup, the more energy you gain, allowing you to play for longer! There are also rewards on the chain based on their rarity!

You’re unstoppable 🎮

Glad you enjoyed the chaos! Losing just one life is impressive! 🎮

Thanks and congrats on finishing the game!

The Coldplay concert I can afford RN 🥲

Stands out from the rest with a surreal experience.

Intriguing concept. Unfortunately, only the EXIT button works for me :(

Nice artwork and gameplay. SFX is much needed though to elevate the gameplay!!

This needs a lot of optimization as it hardly runs at 5-10 FPS on my laptop. Feels similar to say, using blender in the render mode instead of the material mode when modelling.

I do get that it’s part of the upgrade, but this starts waaayyyy too slow. Kind of like I need a DLC to move well.

It’s a bit trippy visually with the camera movements and the over the top effects. Also, the power progression could be better as well btw.

The resistance could be better visualized IMO with some power balance fixes but a pretty decent entry nevertheless.

10/10. This is GREAT. Yayy.

Not sure if that’s just me but, after a while the player starts to FLY and the the movement animation doesn’t work/gets too glitchy. Also, enemies stop spawning.
