version 2 is on the way (release date maybe next uear), I’m a solo developer and this is an hobby for me so it’s not my first priority 😊

Better not release draiva as open source cause the code is a mess 😅

thanks! A new version is in development… stay tuned ;)

Nice, just subscribed ;)

Sure!!! do you have an youtube channel?

The new game is an open world racing game... like a little (very little :) ) forza horizon, so a career mode will be included.

The car list will include the old Draiva cars and more, the graphic style it's low poly so it should not be a graphic intensive game.

Thanks again for your interest, this boost me to work on the game more frequently (it's not my main job).

Sure, it will continue in a new game and sometimes in the future I'll create the page about it here in itch.io with some material (video and images)... I'll update also the Draiva devlog with the news ;)

So, stay tuned because a new version is in the works :)

Ah... the new version will not be free, I think it will cost something like 1.99 or similar price.

Draiva development was stopped as I wrote in the dev log... I’m working on a new version but right now I have no clue about a release date... thanks for the interest!!!

I'm developing it and I'm here just to share my work.

This is the devlog #4, you can follow me on the game page (https://alborellagames.itch.io/draivapixel)

Lots of improvements on this devlog.

  • better AI
  • turbo (for player and AI cars)
  • day/night cycle (accelerated on the video)
  • fog and clouds shadow (moving clouds!!! :D )
  • rain implementation that affects car grip
  • house/single race/championship/garage/car dealer panel activation and opening
  • fuel consumption mechanic (no fuel? no movement)
  • car damage mechanic (more damage means less performance)
  • car mods mechanic (basic implementation)
  • a visible clock on the upper right corner (wow! :D )

The idea is to implement an open world map with events (single races, championships) and buildings (my houses, car dealers, garages) inspired to forza series games (as far as possible for me and for a 2d environment)

Next steps:

  • implement single race activation
  • sounds
  • career development with my houses (to put my cars), car dealers (to buy cars), garages (to mod cars), championshis and single races (to earn money)
  • world map design
  • cars design and test (each car will be different from the others)

STAY TUNED!!! :D

thanks for the advice :) I'll think about it when I'll build the game.

(1 edit)

the look will be similar, I'm not thinking about changing so much ;)

0.2.2 is here, new options to enable/disable motion blur and depth of field.

I hope you'll enjoy the game!

Ok, nice advice, I'll add the options to disable distant and motion blur... hope to upload 0.2.2 tomorrow ;)

you mean the distant blur or the motion blur when the car is moving?

I hope I understand the problem you reported, I just uploaded a new version ... let me know if it's okay now :) otherwise send me a screenshot;)
Thank you.

Grazie.

iI would like to work more on Draiva But you know, "real" work... :)

thanks for the feedback... Maybe it's too much :)

Glad to hear it! let me know if you enjoy the game :)

Draiva is an old style car driving game with procedurally generated tracks.

0.2 is here, reading the instructions in your link now it should be WinXP compatible.

Let me know! :)

you said Valentine's Day and here we are... ;) 0.2 is ready to download!

LOL :D

Thanks for the comment and for the video... next version will be out in a week or so and it will also solve some controls problems (right now is a little too hard to play).
I hope you'll continue to enjoy the game in the future :)

(1 edit)

in the next version I’ll enable opengl for windows builds... I hope to release 0.2 in a week.

Thanks for the comment! 😉

Thank you, I'll keep updating the game as I can! :)

I hope to have the time to polish, to add more options and to solve some stupid issues (like the bigfoot grip).
I hear you was talking about tracks in the video: tracks are procedurally generated, you can save tracks writing the code number on a paper :D
Welcome to 1988! :P

Thank you for the review!!! :-)

Draiva is an old style car driving game with random shareable (by code key for now) tracks.
