Love the art style, and the gameplay is really cool too!

You should really think about making a longer full fledged version of this, perhaps you could have a few bosses with bullet hell-like mechanics. Adding some characters (the bosses or such) which delivers the story, similar to the in between texts you have currently but more natural and interesting, adding a bit more to the story as well.

I was thinking about doing something with the birds and what not, but I ran out of time.

Maybe it's not clear enough, but when you have max bounce and high ball control, you can use that to bounce on the clouds to reach higher. That's where the platforming part comes in.

I've completed it a few times, so definitely possible! :)
