My favorite part of this game (other than the cute depictions of ami and buckos) is how the movement feels! gosh its so satisfying to move around, bounce off of the buckos, and bonk them. feels really fluid and like you're in complete control of all the actions. i love the "bucktendo" touch you put in and your description of the game is so silly and funny!! i had a great time playing this!

Amazing job, especially with the sprite work! the animation was so cute and fluid, and i loved the touch of the spiderlegs gripping on to the wall to slide down. The movement system is tricky but i can tell its something that you can get really good at it and will be super satisfying once you're used to it. And you recreated my bgm oh my god!!! incredible work
Sooo cute! I was so happy to see that someone used the bitsy engine because I think its just so charming and the limitations can make it so that people get real creative and make something amazing, and you did that! the sprites were so small but communicated so much, and you packed SO much different music in for a small game!! Let's have a donut party with all the buckos~
Oh my god i seriously wanted to cry at the end when bucko said "you were there with me the whole time". the writing was SO witty and i loved all the references to stream stuff, i really hope nothing flew over my head LOL. amazing job for a first game, super great and creative use of the assets i provided, and all the different endings/game overs make the game really worth replaying!!
literally squealed when i saw the graphics. you put so much heart into this and the music being made by you and recorded from your keyboard is so special! The bucko and ami "sprites" (can you call it that if its water color?) are seriously cute and when the bucko goes sicko mode it really gets the blood pumping hehehe
I felt like SUCH a sneaky lil gal going around and sneaking past all of those guards hehehe. The mechanic of guards/lasers that can detect you is a really smart one, and you expand on it in a great way by combining the guards and the lasers, changing up the guards walking patterns, and the progression was really satisfying!! not to mention getting that sweet sweet loopy at the end.. fantastic job!
Such great work on this game! The ami, bucko, and boss sprites are great and they really fit well with the pre-fab assets you found. Also love the music choices and the mechanics (AMIS GOT A GUN)
Some of those buckos were really well hidden, a nice but not to complicated non-linear level design!!
Great use of the voice clips and super fun game to play!!!
Not only is this game adorable looking and i love the sprites you made for myself and the buckos, but the ramping up of the mechanics were great, and endless mode was such a cool idea! You definitely feel the frantic vibes of a mom trying to round up her silly buckids who just will not listen to what she has to say LOL it perfectly encapsulated the vibes of when buckos are being lil stinkpigs in chat!!
I could really feel the amount of time and love you put into this! The custom art is all so amazing and I can't fathom how you got it all done in just two months, as well as all of the minigames. Being your first game project on top of that... bravo is all i can say! I loved the dialogue and the custom sfx, i can't wait to finish the game! I wanna go mushie foraging again...
Cauchy you devilish demon you! I really had a few additional wrinkles develop in my brain today, you better smooth them out!! Super fun and unique concept for a game while still being simple, i really had to use my noggin for the last few. I think the best puzzles are the ones where you think they're impossible at first and then suddenly see the light, and your puzzles definitely fulfilled that! The ramping up of the mechanics was well done!!
Aaaaa so cute to have a lil gameboy game, its a really fun challenge to see how high of a score you can get! A game that makes my wrist hurt is the best kind hehehe. i love your digitization of the bonk emote and the beeeg stretched bucko for the bar during gameplay. The movement and controls were super smooth and fun too, very satisfying to play!
this was too too cute, i've never played a game really like this before but i loved the action/quick thinking you have to do! You did a really great job of creating a different level of challenge for all the levels and ramping it up appropriately, esp that spooky creepypasta last level!! Amazing job on the music and art!
I haven't even scratched the surface of the incredible amount of work you put into this game! The addition of all the different ami-related characters was so fun and the skill system seems so well balanced! I also love that there is lots of different items to find and replayability if you pick a different build. I can't wait to play more!
So impressed that you came up with a new block game concept! It's so hard to iterate on nowadays, it really feels like everything has been done but this felt totally unique. Not only is it fun to move the buckos around but the animations/sprites for them are super cute and have some real weight to them when you're falling, climbing, etc. And I can't get over how amazing the music was, truly fantastic work and the inspiration was instantly recognizable! I'm gonna try and beat my score again...
God I got way too addicted to this. Thank you so much for your hard work, the choice of music and sfx are amazing and the sprites and assets you made are soo cute. It was extremely challenging but not in a frustrating way, the different mechanics really made sense once you play it enough times and the "eating a bucko midair" thing to reset the web to get past the harder to dodge attacks was a stroke of genius. Really something to be said for your sense of game design that you were able to come up with boss patterns that were challenging, fun, and possible to overcome (even though i cheated with amicute ehehehe)
I'm so proud I was able to beat it!! Yay!! You made amazing use of the asswets that i provided and the story was so adorable (but tragic, i felt real sadness bringing those evil buckos through the fire... they're no longer buckos ami....) Bonus points for intuiting that faeries cave is one of my favorite neopets games (this is very high praise fyi) and making me realize that i need to play paganitzu. I can't wait for the sequel!!
Scup this game is so polished, well executed, and adorable!! I love the references you put into my stream in it, and you did such an amazing job with the game assets and art, not to mention a fantastic choice of music that made me never want to stop playing. You should be really proud of yourself, I'm gonna be playing this more tonight trying to figure out how numbers number...
You really took the spirit of the gamejam to the next level! Not only did you objectively improve on hug the bucko by animating all the sprites and the hearts, you made it able to run on c64?! that blows my mind, the level of dedication is insane! Sadly I could not get past 26 buckos, maybe it could be a problem with the emulator i chose? I'd love to give it another try if you can suggest one that will work better! I used Denise.
This entire project is so smart and over my head, but the buckos say you are communicating directly with my computer in this game, a feat that no one has pulled off since the great computer conversation in 1840 BA.
Seriously though this was such a well done game for what it is and what a neat challenge, 512 bytes is like nothing!! Made me wanna try something similar someday~
