Really fun platformer; maybe a little coyote time would make it better. I always try to jump in the last second, so I ended up falling most times I've tried.
But it was pretty good overall; it definitely made me fail and overcome.
Most times I obsessed over this kind of details, but I didn't even consider making a different sound the closer you get to matching the block. I think it would be a great indicator and also give you a better satisfaction factor when playing, like when you press a button or close a door. If you don't get that clicky sound, you know that something is just not right, so I'll keep it in mind.
In the beginning, the game was supposed to randomly generate the structures, so it will just be and infinite game, making you play for a high score, so the replayability would be even greater, but time constraints for submitting it to the jam make me focus on things about the core mechanics, like the matching blocks' system (The thing that gets how similar the blocks are to the shape in the background), so I'll update the game soon to add a few of these things.
Thanks for playing it ;3
Thanks a lot, it was fun to make.
The thing about multiple shapes is that sometimes you might miss a block making you wing the rest of the blocks to match, sometimes makes it harder to get the good enough, and I imagine that more than one shape might make the game even harder, but maybe this is just due to a poor implementation, so I'll keep it in consideration.
Also, the replay button is definitely a must-have in this type of game. I just spent most of my time trying to figure out the matching blocks' system (For getting the similarity between the block and the shape and the background), so I was left with little to no time for solving some sneaky bugs. So basically, I ran out of time.
But thanks for playing it, I'll update it in the future to add the replay button :)
