Wow, I heard it's a pain writing game engines from scratch. How did you make an engine with VR compatability?

To the one person who downloaded, I apologize.
I wanted to make this game like an apocolyptic Thief game, essentially, with stealthing around zombies, using rocks and other things, etc.,
My time set on this game was splintered between work and house, leaving little room for devopment.
Not to mention it took half the jam making the backpack alone! I wanted to make it so that you can pick up any object and put it in your bag for later use, and then you can whip out a random object from said backpack when you need it (for example, bridging a gap with a board).
Problem is with the collisions involved with the grabber, and the backpack.
So what I did first was that it would store the object as a GameObject in a list and then destroy it.
The problem was that after it was destroyed, the backpack won't spawn the object, because the reference to said object was destroyed.
This problem took me ages to work around, and that was because I didn't choose to get help. On the 7th, I decided to get help and then the situation was resolved.
At that point, I worked on modelling stuff and trying to get the scene together until my backpack was fixed.
But now that my backpack was fixed, I had very little time to do the stuff I wanted. I had to crunch just to grab textures and sounds and to get it built.
All in all, very frustrating when you're doing it alone. But hey, thank you for downloading.
