Thanks, and I'm glad you liked it! Speed based platformers are some of my favorite games ever, so it's only natural I made one. Looking back on the game, I do agree with the critiques - I made the hell level quickly and it was hard to balance it without much time to get any feedback, and the lights aren't super integrated in the gameplay - somebody else pointed that out too. The color palette swapping was something I thought of before the jam even started, and I'm surprised that most of the games don't seem to do that.

And yes, the clown music is truly epic

I like the art style - the robo character has a nice design! The gameplay didn't seem to last too long - I didn't do much during the night because I was still figuring it out, and when the daytime came I managed to quickly get everything I needed and finish the game. I didn't experience any bugs when I played, and the concept is solid.

I gave your game a try, and I thought it was cool & unique. I left a comment and review on it.

I have to say, all of these games always manage to impress me with something unique. Typing out the bridge for the player to walk on is very creative. The game does seem to have some small bugs, but this is overall a good game with an interesting concept!

I gave your game a try, and left a review + comment. It was a great game!

This is the game I made, you can check it out here-> https://itch.io/jam/1-bit-jam-wow/rate/2221642

This is a good puzzle game! It follows the theme really well and is completely original. It gave me a good brain exercise, but I eventually did get stuck on a puzzle. I like it, Good job!

Everything about this game just feels great, from hitting shots to getting the laser. Seeing the laser for the first time felt really cool. The color palette cycles through some nice colors too.

After some time I got my score up to 66249 on wave 34 before I got obliterated by a big group of enemies

Thanks! Glad you gave it a try and liked it! And thank you for the feedback. For the theme feeling disconnected, I would have sort of have to agree on that - the implementation is a bit awkward, and if I decide to follow up this game with a new (separate from the jam) version, the lights may just get completely removed. The levels get a bit unbalanced because I was in a bit of a rush near the end of the jam. But overall I'm proud of this game.

Your game stands out from the other games, with its precise platforming and distinct art. I think it's quite a fun challenge!

Fun game, and quite a challenge! The controls are tight which is very important in this case. The color palette is also distinct from all of the other games I've seen. I like it.

(also for some reason my comment posted twice at first)

On my first attempt I got caught by the monster pretty quick lol but on the second one I was able to get much further

The puzzles require you to think but are still reasonable and intuitive to figure out. Having to keep an eye out to avoid being caught adds to the experience.

I like the mix of puzzle solving while also trying to keep an eye on any monsters trying to get you!

My game also has enemy creatures, but focuses more on the platforming, with turning off lights being an additional mechanic to avoid getting beaten up.

This is one of my favorite games that I've played so far in this jam, and it is one of the most unique RPG games I've ever seen. I love how going in the dark world immediately changes the atmosphere to something completely different. Rock paper scissors itself is very simple yet it works well here.

Thanks! Glad you liked it! And funny enough, this isn't the only time I've made a game resembling sonic. It seems to just be my thing.

There is a windows .EXE available right now, but I haven't been able to get HTML working yet

Edit: The HTML build has been added now.
