in the late game you want to find upgrades that aren't additive like str. the ascension tree damage upgrades and equipment stats basically give all the damage you need. dex reduces spell cooldown and so has really great damage if u can increase the cap. not to mention the dagger + dex + agi is amazing for farming.

I haven't played in a while, but try a spell build, max dex and get more dex capacity to reduce spell cooldown as much as possible (i had 65 dex)
I think spells also benefit from int, and my favorite spell is the one with rotating projectiles going outwards in a circle (best aoe dmg imo esp for ranged enemies)
Love the style, 10/10.
Insanely fun. Here are some of my runs:
Generated around 15 faith per round by itself lol. Fourth card from the left (forgot its name) had the duplication effect. Somehow managed to kill the dragon without losing any core healths by having the three cards on the right all have double stats.
Funny moment when the firework master killed my last follower upon his death
Very op run where the 4/6 had aspiring so it would gain the attack of the 20/20. Then the 13/15, which had double attack, would kill the buffed 4/6 and gain all its stats. Dragon was absolutely shredded.
Getting past the early game was so hard. Then I looked at grindsaw's completed kingdom and had a flash of inspiration and well see for yourself lol I don't think piers are supposed to be stacked like this LMFAO.
Fun little game and the serene music compliments the atmosphere of the game well! Great work!
Primarily I was disappointed with how sudden the ending was, because
1. I didn't even realize the fairy was a final boss and
2. dialogue afterward felt akin to "hooray, you beat the final boss"
I was expecting some more lore lol. The final bosses werent easy (especially the other final boss - the first time I fought it I didn't make a dent on its purple hp bar). As for custom animations, I love minimalist games so personally that's icing on the cake. I'd honestly prefer more content.
I think you misunderstood that I only played with Stan. I actually got both Stan and Apolonia to beat the goblin boss, then beat the game on Stan since Apolonia's weak damage at the later stages ends up getting me into the "overtime" at turn 15ish, where her high hp and defense just don't matter anymore. Maybe I've haven't been allocating her stat points optimally.
sorry for the late reply and again, fun game, haven't had this much fun playing a browser game for a while :)
very fun game. i beat it with stan. it was a bit rough in the beginning with his low hp but his amazing attack and agility just shredded enemies before turn 15ish where they start hitting each other randomly lol. I noticed that he got nerfed, but his damage output is still leagues higher than Apolonia's haha.
some of my other thoughts:
beating the final boss of glades was rather underwhelming
core gameplay loop got a bit stale towards the end, felt somewhat grindy
I never got to reach those (??? difficulty) mysterious islands, any idea how to get there?
liked the game a lot, keep up the good work! also im excited for whats coming next!
a few questions from a noob:
is it optimal to first temper items that you're going to merge to legendary then merge them?
how do you get multiple of the same monster? when I go to the nest and use the aura sense option, it doesn't let me get another monster that I already have in my team
is savescumming normal? for example, reloading when your team dies, or quitting for free shop rerolls, good random events and blessings/curses?
Also, what are some tips for getting farther in endless? I'm finding it very hard to get past even six loops on normal difficulty. I just can't grow the stats of my monsters quickly without campfires, and merging and tempering my items costs me ridiculous amounts of aura that I can't get fast enough before my team crumples to stronger and stronger enemies.
anyway, great game! really enjoying it
