hello!!! im a high schooler looking to collabrate in possible game jams and small scoped projects and make ps1 styled models for it, primarily anime ones!!! my models aren't great in terms of quality but id love to work on some other projects than my own to improve and have more experience!!

THIS WAS AN INCREDIBLE RIDE!!!!! the art and visual effects throughout + the oh so creative style of writing seriously makes it's horror so so so SOOO effective!! the writing detailing the pyschical struggle really helps you feel closer to the story imo and the triggers this game included were very very welcome!!! overall this is an amazing game and with how little time this had to be made in, i cant believe how this great story was finished in such a short time!! AAAAAAAAAAA everyoen should just play this atleast once totally recommended!!!!!

I'm looking to gather a team for an upcoming action title in the likes of Yakuza or Persona! Currently programmers are needed and development has been slow, everybody can use this project as a portfolio project!! the game will be about a delinquent named jack kaita, when multiple murders around town occur and his friend becomes a victim of this conspiracy, he decides to take on the case by himself! the game will feature drama in between most of the characters and some delinquent action, fighting gangs and everything!!! we're also going for a somewhat vintage (80s-90s anime) approach on the visuals!

Style: The game will be 3D and follow a yellowish palette and blue or gray ones during night and rain respectively. The graphics will look something like PS3 ones with an anime approach with toon shading. The environment will follow aesthetics I mentioned with lighting being somewhat of a big part of it. HUD’s can be used to give a stylistic feeling to the game like Persona 5’s, so I’d like to take advantage of that in combat. Stuff like giving the screen a TV effect like Persona 4 or something similar can work in our favor. The environment might be more realistic compared to the art style along with lighting. I'm looking for an environment modeller who can make models fitting to the japanese town and indoor aesthetics of an action crime drama game! A lot of the environment will consist of modern 90s streets which could be a little rundown due to it's isolation in the narrative, it takes place in a small village where the big cities get all the spotlight. Persona 4 is the biggest influence for the environment design and aesthetics, Devilman more exactly the Demon Bird OVA has some great environment that I also looked for, especially indoors too. There'll also be abandoned train stations, tunnels or stores at times. Also buildings like a hospital, high school and convenience stores will be used both as buildings and indoor for levels or shops.
Game Project: Me and my team are creating an action game with a crime drama murder mystery-esque story, featuring a delinquent high schooler Jack Kaita. It takes place in an isolated small village/ town setting. The setting is inspired by Persona 4 or the general small japanese town aesthetic with streets, somewhat punk at points with graffiti or so! I just can't code very well as I didn't learn much in the area. What do we look for?
I'm looking for Unity programmers with some level of experience. We'll be creating a boxing oriented play style with a lot of bobbing and weaving and quick punches. If you think you're capable of creating action games with animation cancelling and loopable hit counter like technical things or enemy AI on a whole another hand, we can give it a go!!! We'll also use gamepad control scheme, which is easy to set up unless it gets into sensitivity on analogs which can also be resolved fine.

Work Process
The way I work together with the programmer(s) is with Github! It's not the best but an okay alternative at that, I'm experienced with Github throughout multiple projects along this one so it'll be pretty good to operate on it!
I also use a Discord server that has many channels set for different types of roles, we'd discuss in the coding section, I also made specific channels for documents and references so they don't get lost in the messages specific to each role!
Status
We're currently pre-production with some concept art and rough gameplay where walking, camera and punches are in okay form! The programmer has a big role in the gameplay which we'll really need to experiment until we see what works and what doesn't in the game's design. Some ideas may need to be cut but we'll need to see how it executes first and come up with ways for said execution!

Gameplay
Don't worry about any of the gamepad controls mentioned here, we'll go over them during development! This is just the basic idea
Combat: The fighting mechanics are heavily influenced by games like God Hand and some other action titles, you have two combos, light and heavy for triangle and square, both of these can be charge-able if you hold onto them and the point of combos in this game are every single attack moves so quickly you can chain them into one another, with no build-up animations or end to these combos, only thing stopping you will be an enemy's guard or offense. You have a lock-on system where you have to hold the left trigger, while locked-on you can use evades by moving the left analog stick in left, right and upwards and downwards, this is your tools of defense including the X button which blocks enemies, but if your guard breaks you'll be in for a lot of hits
Taunt System: The most important part about the combat is this, this is a sort of emotional bar that shows both you and the enemy's condition of states (Fury, lust, grief, fear), you taunt with the d-pad and taunt animations can all be skipped by moving so you can instantly taunt in real time, be it after you attack enemies or when they attack you, you can also respond to taunts as if you won't you'll get into such emotional states. If the player keeps up a stable emotional state they'll be in a state called 'Euphoria', this state is the best the player and the enemy can be in, who has this state has the best guard and also advantage in the battle, the more damage you lose the euphoria state will slowly fade. You can also use ''Inner Voice'' by pressing the select button which uses your euphoria for a state which slows down time and increases your attacks to a very huge extent.
Story: The story will feature skippable cutscenes and dialogue, the dialogue will be something like Persona 5, with a camera showing models from different angles from time to time. The cutscenes will be fully animated cutscenes with actual cinematography from the animator, both feature high story elements. And from time to time, there'll be small objectives and tasks that can be connected to the story, as little as 'Buy ramen from the convenience store' or some like going over to place from place for story battles and so on, this game won't have any missions or anything other than story, all the gameplay is connected to the story be it bosses or tasks.
Detective Work: I still haven't planned most of this, but this'll be similar to the story elements that it's not as in-depth or put much into as the things in combat or so, these include investigation, witness questioning and arguments in the end with the possible culprits. The investigations will be exploring the crime scene and collecting clues, including from asking the witnesses. Once you have enough material you'll go up to some witnesses, sometimes all of them at one place, at once, and question them about the scene to gain more information, this is also story based so some elements will be pretty much dialogues again, in the end when you find a suspect you'll start by asking questions again and gradually building up to an argument, eventually winning them over by presenting right evidence and finding holes in their statements. This section needs to be thought over a lil more, and are mostly connected to dialogues and cutscenes
