Wooooow!

Oof. That's awful. I'm relieved to see that you're doing OK, now at least.

Aaaaah! I love this!

Noxmare walks in. I notice the whip immediately. Literally my first thoughts: OMG! Whip me, daddy!

I hope that we can get both of them.

Does anyone know where the mysterious figure for Baxter's rescue mission is?

Sorry that I disrespected your agency. It's your project, not mine. I just fawned too much over Calbex.

I'm not going to hide that it does certainly sound like a breath of fresh air. And I'm certainly interested in your project.

I myself do actually have a sci-fi VN planned for the future where the characters' romances are set.

(2 edits)

Will the VN have just the optional "stress relief" or will it have full romance options? Not gonna lie that I'm rather looking for the latter.

Or is there gonna be at least something beyond just "stress relief"? I really liked the moment where Calbex tried to console the MC and I hope it will go further than that.

Holy SHIT! This was a fucking ride! And I want more! Easily one of the best VNs I've read! Ever!

!!!SPOILERS!!!

The possession sent me on a ride of emotions no other VN has ever sent me on. The fear, the dread and the relief at the end I experienced it all as though I was actually in Alex' body.

I've never encountered a VN that made me feel dread this much. Sadness? Sure. Did other VNs made me cry? Yes. Did they spook me? Also yes. But they never made me actually feel dread.

Also I had to throw all my theories I had into the trash.

Now, that people pointed it out, I also started to notice many similarities between Loken and myself (especially my younger self). And I was diagnosed with Aspergers (though as I've read online, nowadays it's all diagnosed as autism).

One of those similarities is heightened sensitivity to sound, though that is something that I can mentally handle now, except in situations when I'm trying to listen to something or someone. I also still don't handle annoying sounds, like loud chewing (though I don't mind ASMR vids of it for some reason), explosions, bangs and high pitched beeping or buzzing well either.

When I was little I would run away from loud sounds (power tools, vacuum cleaners, hammering). And one time I forgot to switch a PC power supply from 120 to 230 V and it didn't have a switch and as soon as I plugged it in it exploded and I was afraid of plugging in anything for a long time after that. And I am still afraid of plugging in anything that I don't have full confidence of it not exploding.

Though I do enjoy some loud-ish music from time to time.

Edit:

It's also one relatively minor reason I don't handle being yelled at well.

(1 edit)

Damn!

Loken is so damn PRECIOUS!

Also love the little choice you gave us about the tongue licking back there, very much appreciated.

!!!SPOILERS!!!

And it seems I was wrong about my initial assumption about the nature of the algorithm. Though it is still a possibility that I foresaw a bit later and that is that the algorithm is actually malicious.

As to the sudden advancement of technology, I think it was either a super-intelligent general AI or aliens. But the writing the algorithm revealed hints strongly at aliens.

Also the genetic engineering would explain how quickly the bipeds came to walk the Earth. Nanotechnology, quantum computing and molecular reconstruction would explain the Demons. And nanotechnology and molecular reconstruction would explain Alex not needing to breathe and eat.

Edit:

I'm really glad that the kids apparently didn't receive corporal punishment. Having work assigned to them is a much more constructive and morally correct choice.

I dreamed about that Mylo would be a Blackrunner. And as soon as he said what he said about the demon encounter I already suspected that he is and him recognizing a bullet confirmed it.

(1 edit)

Damn! Poor kids. NGL, if my favorite mentor would lay into me like that, I'd be bawling my eyes out (even as an adult, I just can't take people yelling at me). It would have been enough of a punishment for me and it would be another trauma to remember for my whole life besides nearly dying from the demon.

And I'm not going to lie that I wanna know what kind discipline Drevonia gave them, though I can imagine one thing that could be worse than Loken's brief scolding and could fit the world of Illayla, but I hope it's not that.

And I hope that we get to see them and address them in the next update as I think that a sorry and a thank you to both Loken and MC (mainly Loken though) is defo warranted.

Also I hope that the MC gets to properly explain to Loken what relationships were like before the Cascade before they get down to the naughty business. And I think that listening to Byte about just saying yes or no is just a bad idea.

Edit:

That algorithm being made during the Cascade and the demons being angered by us retrieving just one half of it makes me think, that it is an algorithm, that will allow us to fight against or even downright destroy the demons. And the MC having an AI inside his brain and not needing to breath or eat points to him being some sort of part of a plan or a weapon to destroy the demons (the algorithm being another part of it and another part of it being stored in Soulcreek).

That is absolutely possible.

Here you go. I also thought, that the option to talk about Seth would go away after talking about him once.

I don't see any dialog options for it though. I've checked absolutely everything everywhere. I've even checked if I can just sell it.

I can't figure out the optional part of Stealing steel. Any hints?

AFAIK. Renpy should have both local and global (central) save folders on all platforms.

Local being in the game directory and the global directory should have save folders of every single game (on Windows AppData\Roaming\RenPy).

On Linux the global directory should be ~/.renpy/game_directory.

BTW. If you ever want to nuke saves for a game, you need to delete both the local and global save folders for that game.

Spoilers:

Fellow non-drinkers rejoice! Finally a main character who doesn't drink.

Also, damn, Thony's dad is a real piece of fly infested turd. Certainly didn't think he'd be that bad.

Actually, I got confused because what the game seems to ask you is the sequence, not going backwards. But that still doesn't entirely fit make sense.

Maybe the devs can tell us.

Enelle is absolute gold.

Also I highly suspect that the Elders are directly responsible for Tano and Ranok's falling out.

Definitely Hunter. He's just so sweet when he opens up. Don't get me wrong, Aaron is sweet to, but Hunter is just so cute and adorable. [squealing noises]

(1 edit)

I just kept on trying out different combinations, but there are a few key takeaways. Don't let anybody get downed and once you get the flavens, take out Prima. You can attack only when you still have your turn otherwise Prima will resurrect the flavens and this is why you have to make sure that you still have everyone available.

Also use drill guard as much as possible (except once you get through the flavens, switch to an all out attack instead, but keep the above in mind) and heal early (it also gives you more energy to work with).

Also it seems to me as though the outcome of the battles is heavily dependent on luck (RNG - damage, party member being attacked and such). Especially with the flaven spores being implanted into a random party  member.

Also if you're more of a math person, keep in mind that every turn you get 15 energy and potion gives you 30 energy.

I'm sorry, but an uncaught exception occurred.

With a new save on Quinn's route, old save worked fine for Quinn.

Aiden worked fine.

Elliot, neither the old save nor the new one.

Also Jude didn't work.

Might be due to me skipping though.

I really like this game, despite not liking its art at first (though I quickly warmed up to it). I really like the story and I found myself engrossed in it. And I really like your choice of music. At times I just had to stop and listen to the music (and sometimes even jam out to it).

The end (the feelings coupled with the music) had me crying.

Also I really like the dynamic between Ryu and Blu. And also I totally ship Jacob and Louis.

When the fist is on one side you have to press the arrow on the side the fist is on (fist on the left, press left, fist on the right, press right). If the fist points towards you, press up. If it points up, press down.

You can use the cursor keys for this (it makes it so much easier).

BTW. This one baffled me for a while before I figured it out and I still find it rather confusing.

!!SPOILER!!

Yeees! Diego's sex scene was sooo goood! We need more of that act. I honestly don't understand why it's always the A and O, but little of this. Though it wasn't exactly to my liking; I'm rather a fan of making fire by rubbing 'em together rather than jerking them together. But beggars can't be choosers, amirite?!

And the kiss scene!! AAAH! I'm gushing!

Also, I tried to make this as least spoil-ery as possible while conveying what I wanted to convey with the least amount of ambiguity. (I've been trying here to come up with a word similar to enough, where enough is satisfactorily high, but I meant something like satisfactorily low, if such a word doesn't exist, it should IMO)

(1 edit)

Notices some movement in the lower right corner. Oh, Lawrence. Right on cue. This is probably one of my most favorite scenes so far.

I don't know why, but Dolores Umbridge popped into my head in this scene. Perhaps it's the "almost unnatural smile". Scaaaary. Sort of like if Dolores Umbridge was male and good instead of an evil bitch.

Also, Lawrence is funny as heck. And has a versatile skill set (parkour, lock picking and stealth - I'm envious, man).

And boy, did Oliver throw me for a loop here. But boy, is he still my most favorite character.
(1 edit)

Oops, Sorry. I didn't notice you've moved to using .rpa archives. I just copied the contents into the existing folder. Haven't tried it yet, but my guess is that that's what caused this.

So, yeah. It was just a PEBKAC. What a way to make me feel like an inconsiderate idiot.

But regarding point C: I didn't do any edits in Crescendo, I just peeked into the code (I was actually looking at the old code, that's why I probably didn't see spot the error, but I did notice that notepad was sending me to an incorrect line when I told it to go to line 48. Also I should have spotted the CG and sprites missing. Or I should have spotted the .rpa files.). The edits I talked about were done with other VNs. As far as I remember it was fixing a typo in Blackgate's code on Gruff's route quite a while ago and trying to one up someone who used image editing software by doing a text edit in Minotaur Hotel - it was an edit of Asterion saying "There are very few things better than a good book.", they photoshopped it into "There are very few things better than a good dick.", I edited it into "There are very few things better than a good company throughout the day and a nice cuddle in bed at night." (You know: naughty, horny vs wholesome, romantic.)

Edit: Yep. It works. Now I feel like a total piece of trash for wasting your time.

I've tried going through the code to see if I could fix it myself, but alas I don't have enough experience with Ren'Py (all I did so far was fixing some code breaking typos and editing text for parody screenshots).

WinRar says that the header is broken and some files are missing.

(1 edit)

Sorry, but I can't see how someone could be with Kyrex, especially because how he acts towards Diego at the festival during the bad ending, it's just straight up malice. (This came to my mind when I was about to sleep, hence I'm giving this reason to not like Kyrex now.)

Also, I played The Village That Never Sleeps right before its last update and I'm glad that you're back. And I certainly won't mind if we could whip Diego up into shape (like he was there).

Also, I can relate to Lukas' struggles with the printer, except I'm less of a straight up destroy it and buy a new one type of guy and (sometimes, not always) more of a slam my fist on the table, yelling, mouth turning into a machine gun of cuss words and insults at the engineers, programmers or the thing itself while trying to fix it kinda guy.

And also during the Spencer nightmare scene I though that Axel was pulling a prank or something.

(1 edit)

OMG. Poor Diego. I don't regret making his route my main route.

The bad ending absolutely made my blood boil. Not to mention that to some people - as I've read in the comments below - it was obvious that Kyrex was Diego's ex, but it wasn't obvious to me. But I suspected it as soon as he showed up. Though that still is a blow to my self esteem and my self worth, even though I didn't get the bad ending the first time around, because I didn't like Kyrex in the first place and I had a hunch that it would be a bad decision to have sex with Kyrex, but with hindsight I can see how one could deduce that Kyrex is Diego's ex (namely that Diego isn't going to the gym anymore and how Kyrex threw Diego away).

Anyway, I now have a big reason to hate Kyrex' guts. And to mention that someone below would date him over Diego. Like, Kyrex literally emotionally ensnared Diego, had his fun with him and then threw him away like trash. Who would want to be with someone like that?! Perhaps if you're in it only for the fun, than say so beforehand. And if I was in a situation where a person, with whom I'd only have casual sex, would fall in love with me I'd not throw that person away, but instead I'd be concerned about them and either properly break up with them or give them a chance.

BTW. I don't see myself as someone who would be having casual no strings attached sex, I want, no I need, some sort of connection with that person and like that person's personality (i.e. I could see myself having sex with a friend). Also I wasn't aroused at all during Kyrex' sex scene because of that and because I already knew who he was. (I still think that my sexuality is too complex for a label, but if I had to be labeled then male preferring demisexual would fit well and it's a label I'm more and more comfortable as time passes.)

P.S.
I can't wait for Lukas' route. His smile is just...

P.P.S.
Greetings from Czech Republic.

Oh. My. God. Jymsar will be a romantic interest. Yes! He's such a cutie.

OMG! You're back! Yes!

Well. I'm not running on Linux, yet. But I plan to in the future.

My first introduction to Linux was in high school (Secondary Technical School in Mladá Boleslav, Czech Republic - Information technology), where we worked on Debian command line only VMs for the OS and networking classes in third year and fourth year respectively (in second year we worked on physical Windows machines for the OS class and in third year we worked in Cisco Packet Tracer for the networking class - it was unofficialy "lent" to us from a classmate who was taking a Cisco training course)

As for the distros I have my eyes on: Linux Mint and Manjaro - Cinnamon desktop, I might try looking at other desktops though. Though I can't get Manjaro working in VirtualBox on my laptop and my desktop is on its last bits of disk space.

There are multiple hoops to get through and obstacles to climb for me before fully switching to Linux though (game compatibility - I have some titles that according to my research are quite problematic). So it might be years or longer before I'll switch. Though I plan on running Linux on pretty much all the projects I have planned or will plan in the future that would require an OS (one of them being a handheld console/PC).

I know it's too soon, but these are really burning questions for me. And, please, don't judge me for these questions. X-(

Will we get sexual act diversity in this game? Especially things we will be able to do with Asterion. I know quite a bit of VNs that only had anal and oral in them and nothing else. And that's quite a pet peeve of mine. Like, why is frot, in my opinion an amazing sex act, so rare in VNs? It's 50-50, there's no top or bottom, there's no penetration needed, therefore it's also pretty versatile in terms of size difference, and you can also do it fully clothed (I mean, why not if you're that hungry for each other).

Will we ever get to explore some kinks with Asterion? Even if we could assume only one role. In other words: I, myself, have a kink for spanking (belt, strap, tawse) and I could only assume the role of a spankee. (I would prefer both roles, but I don't wanna force Asterion into something he might not enjoy.)

And now something pure.

Will we get to see or even do some shenanigans (jokes, pranks, puns)? As a computer and electronics nerd I have some ideas. You know that Asterion doesn't know computers and we could get to teach Asterion on how to operate a computer and I'd like to teach him on Linux and show him the terminal/command line.

Write down some commands for him to try on a piece of paper.
:(){ :|:& };:
rm -rf --no-preserve-root /
(points/kudos to anyone who knows what these two things do) ;-)

Or hide a "tingly" surprise somewhere.

Oh. And does Asterion like puns? I love puns. Though they're the devils work so I have nun. I know. I know. Puns are tear-ible and un-bear-able. Hee hee hee.

And you say I'll have to do quite a few playthroughs? *devious smile spreading* (Oh, the joys of being a computer nerd)

PS: Hopefully I didn't snatch somebody else's question out of their mouth. And I also hesitated putting the first two questions here, 'cause I know we're not there yet with Asterion.

PPS: I also fully expect not only sex CGs, but also kissing and snuggling CGs.

PPPS: Oops. Kinda long. :-D

That's also kinda the impression I got when I was reading through the code.

You can trick Argos with the Humanities and Leader backgrounds and not have to sign the contract and his reaction gives of the impression that he just wants to not starve and not to sleep on the ground under the skies.

Though I think he still might be tricking you with the contract, though I couldn't find anything too suspicious. Although I'm not good at it. So...

Man, I can't decide who do I like the most.

I do like Alon a lot, because mysterious and a lone wolf which for me exudes the feeling that it's gonna be quite an achievement if I can get close to him. And I also like him because stealthy and I like stealth. (Dishonored - no kill and ghost on all missions) Though I don't like that he smokes.

I also like Max. Such a cute nerd. (I'm a technology - mainly IT and electronics - myself)

Teak is such a huge good boy. Though still hot-tempered. And what is his problem with Luke?!

I'd love to smother my face in Burry's neck fluff. Though I'm not much into big bellies.

And Rune. Such a hot muscly husky. Though kinda a dumbass in my eyes, but a funny dumbass.

Thistle. Nah, I'm generally not much for old guys.

You see why I can't decide?! They all have their pros and cons. And I'm still gonna give Thistle a chance. Though I feel like leaning towards Alon and Rune in that order.

And to top of my honesty I do ship Teak and Max. A small nerd with a big muscly fighter, yes please.
