I'm excited to share our newest game called The Motel on itch! Currently discounted for the early birds at 30% it costs 1,39 USD! Any and all profits will go directly into making bigger and better games in the future. We hope you enjoy and will make sure to read every single comment.
Quick summary:
In The Motel, you're a late night employee at a quiet roadside stop near Oakhill Grove. What begins as a routine shift, completing tasks, serving guests, and petting the lobby cat, soon turns into a fight for survival when a news broadcast warns of a dangerous figure nearby. With multiple endings, this 40 to 60 minute light horror game combines ambient tension, jump scares, and humor, leaving fate in your hands.
Story:
"You're an employee on a late night shift at The Motel, an old, quiet roadside stop just before the big city in Oakhill Grove. Your job is simple enough: keep things in order and handle what needs doing until morning. At first, the night seems like any other, but a news broadcast crackling through the radio changes everything. There's someone dangerous roaming the outskirts of Oakhill Grove. Will you make it through the night shift, or will The Motel become your final stop?"

Agreed,
Definitely, felt great to play and I could indeed find a consistent way to dodge etc. So it wasn't unbalanced in that way at all, I think the ramp was indeed just super significant because of the amount of bosses. But for the amount of time you got, even having 3 bosses surprised me, I thought it was just one! Again, great job!
Hi Tethera!
Thank you for playing our game and making a video on it. I appreciate that. This game will not have a direct continuation as it was made for a game-jam and we never expected it to get this big! We are already working on a follow-up game that will play much alike this one but in our opinion bring way more tot the table. Hope to see you return!

Hi Spyder!
I wouldn't categorize this game as a real horror game. As stated in the description, this game is more of a light hearted horror/thrill game. It has some ambience and essence of a horror game but leans more towards a light hearted funny game and yes it is 3d first person. I hope you can enjoy the game!

Jcoord,
This game was tested on 5 different devices with different specs and has never crashed during any of our testings. The game requires at least an integrated GPU to run. I don't think it crashed but might have been seen by your anti-virus as harmful. Try to see if it plays better with it disabled. If it still happens, please try to record this and I'll investigate this right away with the video! Thanks a bunch for the compliments.

This was a unique take on the theme and reminded me of fireboy watergirl. Now let's start with the good. This game really sets itself apart as it's concept uses two characters that you can control and bring together. Having the momentum continue when switching was great and the blocks only being there in 1 version was a great puzzle touch. I really liked the way this was portrayed it was very clear what was happening at when moment. The bad is that the art didn't appeal to me, it felt a little cheap to me but it still made it's own style thus I could enjoy it. I had some issues with the scaling. The first level is very tutorial like helping me understand and getting there. But the second level immediately scales with saws, parkouring and harder things and that's kinda difficult and needed a intermediate level. I also found out that if you jump to the side of walls and spam the spacebar you fly up into the sky. You can also get yourself inside block by switching then spamming spacebar and switching again. You'll fly up as well. The camera system was difficult as at the last level I couldn't control the second person on the outside of because the camera wouldn't go up even tho the inside person was at the top so I sadly couldn't finish and for some reason the person outside felt like he didn't want to live and threw himself of the platform whenever I was the inside character. Besides these issues, I really really like the concept. i think it's unique and with more time, polishing and levels this could be a great game. Nice job!
I think this is a really unique and fun take on the concept. But the mechanics felt weird to me. I often found myself very confused. This probably because of the zooming animation and then not understanding what just changed to what. But besides that, I truly liked the game and felt it was a true puzzle game.
I think this was a great idea, but there are a few things I think slightly missed. I don't like that I have to almost lure the cook to the edge of the screen to turn off the music and sfx and felt like the theme was missed a little. The overal concept is really unique in my opinion though and I liked the art style and mechanics. Cool story and overal, solid game
