Hi Nishikku, thank you so much! Surely will continue making games.

Hey Greg,

I really enjoyed your video, it was super entertaining to see you play through this and I'm glad you came back. See you in the next one ;)

Hi Debian,

Awesome to see you back. I'm unsure of adding other languages, but it's definitely something to consider. It's probably too much work however.

Hey Merulon,

I'm glad you enjoyed it and thank you very much for playing!

Thank you for all your efforts!

Hey everyone!

I'm excited to share our newest game called The Motel on itch! Currently discounted for the early birds at 30% it costs 1,39 USD! Any and all profits will go directly into making bigger and better games in the future. We hope you enjoy and will make sure to read every single comment.

Quick summary:

In The Motel, you're a late night employee at a quiet roadside stop near Oakhill Grove. What begins as a routine shift, completing tasks, serving guests, and petting the lobby cat, soon turns into a fight for survival when a news broadcast warns of a dangerous figure nearby. With multiple endings, this 40 to 60 minute light horror game combines ambient tension, jump scares, and humor, leaving fate in your hands.

Story:

"You're an employee on a late night shift at The Motel, an old, quiet roadside stop just before the big city in Oakhill Grove. Your job is simple enough: keep things in order and handle what needs doing until morning. At first, the night seems like any other, but a news broadcast crackling through the radio changes everything. There's someone dangerous roaming the outskirts of Oakhill Grove. Will you make it through the night shift, or will The Motel become your final stop?"

Trailer:

Agreed,

Definitely, felt great to play and I could indeed find a consistent way to dodge etc. So it wasn't unbalanced in that way at all, I think the ramp was indeed just super significant because of the amount of bosses. But for the amount of time you got, even having 3 bosses surprised me, I thought it was just one! Again, great job!

Surprisingly fun, this feels like a concept that could be turned into something way bigger along the lines of G-Dash content. Really enjoyed this quick game and besides the last boss feeling somewhat unbalanced (or I'm just bad), I have no complaints. 9/10 and awesome music to fit along with it.

Nice game. I liked the story/lore behind it. Quite a tough one actually and the little puzzles with the level design was clever! Great first game and I'm excited to see what will come next.

Lovely game. It was very tough and the movement felt a bit awkward. But I managed to get very far. Amazing concept, and LOVELY music/art! This is certainly an awesome piece for the given time.

Great music! Merulon is a great sound designer.

Hey UrAverageHamSammy,

Sorry to hear about this. I've never heard or seen this happen in any playtest or playthrough. Are you playing on a windows 7 or later machine with at least some GPU? If you are, please respond we can can come in contact and I can resolve this!

Greetings,

Justus

Hi Spooky time,

Please try again with the latest version as the game has updated to 1.3 since your comment and the performance has gotten significantly better allowing up to 240 FPS in an uncapped scenario. (90fps in-game as it's capped). Hope you enjoy!

Greetings,

Justus

Hey Esmee. Justus (Justbr) here.

This was fun to play, gotta say that I didn't really understand what happened at the end where it kept looping me up. But I really liked all the art and the eerie music vibe. Great job and I can't wait for more of your games.

Great job on this game,

I felt like there needed to be a bit more to hit while running down, but besides this I absolutely enjoyed this game and would make for a killer mobile game. The music sold it for me though, that hardstyle styled beat. Great job.

Hey Colin_07

Thank you for the video and rating! Hope to see you back!

Hey Boundlessbroadcast!

Funny name. Thanks for the video and the great feedback! I will keep this in mind for our next game. We wanted to improve this one but sadly ran into the time limit and aren't allowed to update as the jam is being voted on. Hope to see you return for the next one!

-Justus

Hey Klicku1

Thanks for playing. I'm heard that in our next game we might have a new job opportunity for you ;). Hope to see you return!

-Justus

Hey Boogadoogames,

You have such a cool logo! Thanks for playing the game and making a video. I hope to see you return for our next release.

-Justus

Hey Ricardo!

Thanks for playing the game! I'm really suprised it works well on the steamdeck. We didn't playtest any other device then a windows pc and laptop. I wish you'd have some video of this as that would be so cool.

-Justus

Hey Bobe-wan!

Great video! Thanks for playing. Thanks for the feedback! Yes the story doesn't make a whole lot of sense haha. Please come back for our next release! :)

Hey bookwormbvg,

Thanks for the valuable feedback! I already definitely wanted to do this but we sadly ran out of time and aren't allowed to update the game while the game-jam is in it's voting stage. I will keep this in mind for our next (currently in the works) game. Hope to see you return!

-Justus

Hi Captainmeow (Love the username)

Thanks for playing. Fun video and nice concept with the 3 random games. Hope to see you return!

-Justus

Hey EzEz!

Thanks for playing! I enjoyed the video and hope to see you return for the next release!

-Justus

Hi Debian!

Thank you so much for playing and the video haha! I enjoyed it even though I can't fully understand. I hope to see you return for our next release

-Justus

Hi Tethera!

Thank you for playing our game and making a video on it. I appreciate that. This game will not have a direct continuation as it was made for a game-jam and we never expected it to get this big! We are already working on a follow-up game that will play much alike this one but in our opinion bring way more tot the table. Hope to see you return!

-Justus

Hi Spyder!

I wouldn't categorize this game as a real horror game. As stated in the description, this game is more of a light hearted horror/thrill game. It has some ambience and essence of a horror game but leans more towards a light hearted funny game and yes it is 3d first person. I hope you can enjoy the game!

-Justus

Hi intergaming,

Thank you so much for playing the game. This was quite a fun video :). I hope to see you play our next release!

Jcoord,

This game was tested on 5 different devices with different specs and has never crashed during any of our testings. The game requires at least an integrated GPU to run. I don't think it crashed but might have been seen by your anti-virus as harmful. Try to see if it plays better with it disabled. If it still happens, please try to record this and I'll investigate this right away with the video! Thanks a bunch for the compliments.

This was a unique take on the theme and reminded me of fireboy watergirl. Now let's start with the good. This game really sets itself apart as it's concept uses two characters that you can control and bring together. Having the momentum continue when switching was great and the blocks only being there in 1 version was a great puzzle touch. I really liked the way this was portrayed it was very clear what was happening at when moment. The bad is that the art didn't appeal to me, it felt a little cheap to me but it still made it's own style thus I could enjoy it. I had some issues with the scaling. The first level is very tutorial like helping me understand and getting there. But the second level immediately scales with saws, parkouring and harder things and that's kinda difficult and needed a intermediate level. I also found out that if you jump to the side of walls and spam the spacebar you fly up into the sky. You can also get yourself inside block by switching then spamming spacebar and switching again. You'll fly up as well. The camera system was difficult as at the last level I couldn't control the second person on the outside of because the camera wouldn't go up even tho the inside person was at the top so I sadly couldn't finish and for some reason the person outside felt like he didn't want to live and threw himself of the platform whenever I was the inside character. Besides these issues, I really really like the concept. i think it's unique and with more time, polishing and levels this could be a great game. Nice job!

I vouch for this reply to this comment's vouch on the vouching comment

I.. I don't understand how I play. I really love the style, graphics musics. But I just don't understand what I have to do. I can't get past the first terminal prompt.

No worries at all. I'm sure you thought about those things. I had a crunch at the end myself. I really enjoyed this one and the uniqueness stood out so much on it's own that it overpowers any flaws.

Absolutely, got a great concept on your hands that really reminded me of "a way out". Just the graphics and story telling that bothered me.

I think this is a really unique and fun take on the concept. But the mechanics felt weird to me. I often found myself very confused. This probably because of the zooming animation and then not understanding what just changed to what. But besides that, I truly liked the game and felt it was a true puzzle game.

I think this was a great idea, but there are a few things I think slightly missed. I don't like that I have to almost lure the cook to the edge of the screen to turn off the music and sfx and felt like the theme was missed a little. The overal concept is really unique in my opinion though and I liked the art style and mechanics. Cool story and overal, solid game
