Ahh Sorry J! I got a work email so I just saw this. Can't do this current jam @_@ I'll be busy until next week.. :( Unfortunate timing;;
but I'd really love to work with you on a jam though!! That airship idea sounds freaking awesome so if you're still continuing that one...~~ Q u Q
> aka YES LETS COLLAB! ☆
heh yeah I got to work on some cool stuff :3 Hopefully I'll get to show you what I did if and when the projects are released~ :v
1. Hi there! What's your name? Want to introduce yourself?
Hey everyone. I'm Elaine, a graduated art college in Spring 2016 as a concept artist. I've had some work in the industry, spread out on indie game pitches, a VR experience and animation. Here's my portfolio.
2. Did you participate in the last jam we held? If so, what do you plan on doing better this time? If not, what's your reason for joining?
I did! It was an idea I had, which I named "Home". I think the uploader in the previous jam called it "fox game". My portfolio actually has some of the art I did for it. But hmm, I think I learned not to take on too much for a short jam. Also communication is very very important to finishing tasks in the first place. I would really love to join a team that's interested in meeting friends, not to just finish a jam.
3. What games are your favorites? Did any of them inspire you, or made you want to make your own?
Journey, Shadow of the Colossus, Inside, Monument Valley, to name some off the top of my head. Really love the vibe of games without dialogue but what matters most to me is a self-reflective end of some sorts, even if it's a vague one. I want to give players, who wouldn't even call themselves gamers, a place of meaning to explore. I'm not that crazy about competitive gameplay, I think I'm more of one to offer playable illustrations.
I'm also just interested in game dev in general but I prefer learning with someone. Tutorials aren't that fun for me. Would love to collab to learn and trade secrets of trades :D
4. Do you have experience with game development? What did you do/with what engine?
I've had some experience with the previous jam in Unity, but just the bare basics.
5. Tell us about something you're passionate about!
Other than drawing, I love taking care of plants. I find it inspiring to watch them grow. :) Talking about philosophy is nice. I also love Naruto. *cough*
6. Any advice to new jammers (if you're a veteran)?
I wouldn't say I'm a veteran but advice I would give is:
1) communication is the foundation of teamwork
2) trust your team
3) be enthusiastic and supportive!

Found a team! Thanks for your interests guys! I'd love to work on more projects with you all so please feel free to message me anytime in the future for anything new :3c

6. Other: I'm really interested in making a game that's based more on moods and exploration, my goals in any project is to have people feel something :) A few examples of my favorite games that do that is Journey, Shadow of the Colossus and Viridi.
I am limited mostly to drawings, ideations, and paintings but willing to learn more about the gamedev scene :)
But really interested in finding a programmer because that is a complete dark zone for me!
Looking for a team!
1. Hi there! What's your name? Want to introduce yourself?
What's up! My name's Elaine, and I'm a 21 y/o recently graduated concept artist. I currently specialize in stylized environments but would like to create a game of my own some day.
2. Did you participate in the last jam we held? If so, what do you plan on doing better this time? If not, what's your reason for joining?
I have not, this will be my first time :)
As a concept artist, my job is to create images but I've grown unsatisfied with just painting. Now I want to do even more and take it to the next level of playable pictures. I've started a personal project called Nascent (it's still in its baby stages) but I'd like to use it as a base for learning game dev and eventually make it into a game in the future.
My college was quite small so I also want to make new friends that also enjoy suffering for the love of expressing art :3c
3. What games are your favorites? Did any of them inspire you, or made you want to make your own?
I look up to games that make you feel nice but also awful, all in the lesson of learning, self-reflecting or just feeling something.
Some favorites are Journey, Shadow of the Colossus, Monument Valley, the Beginner's Guide, and Ori and the Blind Forest and Viridi. They all inspire me to tell a story than anyone can relate to, because we all feel loneliness, guilt and frustration but also hope and happiness.
I also volunteer at IndieCade and it's inspiring to hear the stories of the devs on how their small ideas and stories became a reality. Some of my favorites from them so far has been Mare, Hyper Light Drifter, Overland and Linelight.
4. Do you have experience with game development? What did you do/with what engine?
I have absolutely no experience with gamedev engines :D ! But that's why I'm here :)
5. Tell us about something you're passionate about!
I love nature baths, plein-air painting, listening to music and watching films (and behind the scene stuff). Non-artistically, I like riding my motorbike, watching my orchid mantis eat, collecting plants during travels and challenging myself with spicy food.
