Yes, I had similar issues over winter break. It can be tough to develop a game when your priorities are elsewhere. Hopefully for next year our classes will not interfere with developing the capstone game.

Interesting that you shifted the main style fairly late into development. Curious as to how that decision affected the design and art. It's fun that you were inspired to pursue art on your own time as a result of this project.

This project was definitely a good learning experience for capstone. I'm curious what your biggest takeaway was?

The project looks like it's coming along very well. I'm interested in how you'll change the game based off of the telemetry feedback. Lookin forward to playing the puzzles.

I like that you guys have re-evaluated your plan as a team. Often the first version of a plan is out of scope so coming back to it after the first round of playtests is a great idea.

Crazy you guys already have a playable prototype. It will aid a lot in development.

Documentation can be a pain but personally I find that the process sparks a lot of ideas so I find it enjoyable.

Like that you're checking the vision against the mechanics that you're programming to ensure that they align. This will ensure a more coherent final product.

Your research and team planning has helped us out a ton already. Looking forward to next sem o7

I think it's very important to research other games in the same genre to learn not only what works but also what mistakes to avoid. Seems like this semester prepared your team well good luck next sem :)

Yes, solidifying the vision is such a crucial step that is often overlooked. It'll guide all aspects of our game and give us confidence moving forward.

I think our team's chemistry will definitely be a bonus. Not really having to worry about communication issues will ensure that we can hopefully resolve issues quickly and will keep us accountable since none of us want to let each other down.

I've never considered using a task widget, maybe it's not possible on my phone but that would be a lot better than my current system of using the reminder app which I often forget to open. Checking tasks off a list is definitely a rewarding way of getting work done.

True that the feedback from the various in-class pitches gave lots of tips for what investors are looking for. Interesting that you found the constraint of forming the idea around a research topic to be restricting. Personally, it allowed me to avoid blank canvas syndrome and my research inspired the main mechanics and narrative.

Interesting how you made the pitch small in scope on purpose. For this type of pitch where you're trying to form a team, allowing the team to expand on it alongside you is a great idea.

Having the time reduced to present was very unfortunate but as you said, a great learning experience. The high-concept pitch being engaging and interesting is a great way to gauge that you have a good game concept on your hands.

I like that the player will need to focus on both the environmental and economic impacts of their job. I look forward to seeing the different situations that will force the player to make difficult moral decisions. Seems you already have some great ideas that will not only make for interesting gameplay decisions but also good teaching moments.

Definitely interesting to study the positive effects of social media as all I ever hear about are the negatives. The statistic of the most active social media users being more likely to reach the daily recommended physical activity level is also very surprising. Although, I guess it makes sense since body image seems to be a big problem these days with social media. The idea of spreading false information through social media could make for a great co-op experience.

Hey Jose Jesus II,

You mention both players and NPC's, does that mean the game will have multiplayer networking? Your topic is very interesting and it's definitely a big problem in today's society. The idea also seems pretty interesting, what genres are you considering?
