Yes and yes. Nacho is currently working on the next mode and has plans for a story mode.
Mhm! I've had it happen to me a couple of times. Definitely not fun, but I save it for last since it takes the most time.
The ID number can also be wrong.
It does appear in the intro, but not in the game itself. You can skip the intro at any time.
In Nacho's Instagram comments, he has said he wants to work on a story mode after the next update.
If they say something along the lines of "check the list again" they are typically (I wanna say always, but I'm not sure lol) a doppelgänger. You can always call the apartment of the person to see if they're home in this case.
