Accidentally downloaded the windows public instead of the webview one and I think it messed up my save file, it briefly flickers before disappearing and I can't load it in the new versions (both 4.0 and 4.2). Any way for me to check/transfer the save files manually or should I just start over?

Woah! The game has been massively updated since the last time I played! The last time I played was 0.17.5 having just started Chapter 3. I'm getting the occasional error pop up and I've only poked around a little bit but it seems like the War Room doesn't do anything for me? I'm incredibly out of the loop, so would it be better to just download the entire game fresh or is there some solution that will keep these save files?

1) more monsters are being gradually added, and previous monsters are being updated. I'm sure Nono's got a lot of work to do, so don't rush them too much.

2) for me, scenes sometimes freeze for about a second or two, but only on tentacles whose bond scenes aren't complete. I assume this is because they aren't complete, and the problem will be fixed once the full bond scenes are finished. If your freezing problem is different, you could be more specific

3) other comments have noted disappearing monsters between updates when trying to swap save files between updates, but supposedly the problem was fixed when they reinstalled the game

4) not quite sure what you mean by this one? maybe check to see if your save directory folder is still there?

The instinct menu on the side (the cluster of purple tentacles) unlocks the global map and other features gradually. If you meet the requirements for each of the eyeball shaped nodes, they will turn grey and then you can unlock the next step.

Does anyone have a guide for manually updating the game, or do I have to download the itch.io app?

I started playing with v22.5b, and haven't been able to figure out how to get the v23 updates
