you select ur troopes with Numbers 1 2 3. you right click on the battlefield outside of the "hero's" yellow circle.
Ur troops will die and give you exp to upgrade ur troops for your next attempt.
weaken and capture the hero to complete that lvl.

I as well have bought the game and can't select any option in the start menu.
It saddens me that such a major issue has gone unresolved for so very long.
It saddens me more that I can't even play a game I payed for.
EDIT: Less than a minute after typing this response I tried to interact with the starting menu and could not, I then wondered if the Nintendo Pro Controller (Wired Connection) I had to my computer was interfering with the inputs. While connected neither the controller or my mouse could interact with the buttons on the main menu. Once I removed the controller the menu could be interacted with as normal!

Overall i'd give the full game a 4/10. The tarot cards you find around the map look pretty cool but that's it. Each credited artist has their own character and I assume did their own part of the animations. A majority of the animations are pretty low quality, some looks as if it were animated in MS Paint. For the quality and content of this game I wouldn't have paid more than 5$
