this game is everything i could ask for in a visual novel. some meta-level morality coming across in both story and mechanics. the writer clearly understands how the context of the medium affects the story. plenty of intellegent humor. the mechanics working with and against the morals to tell a story more true to (my experience of) reality than any FVN before.

I want to apologize for judging this by its cover. I did Ty's route path C then to A and I am impressed by everything, including what I initially judged. Ten outta ten, will recommend.
Edit: however Shadow of Doubt and Shades of Uncertainty always trick me into thinking something is wrong with my pc whenever they play.
spoilers:
The face he made in his route when Haruki kisses you on the roof? heck, that whole scene even. Then how he treats Jun after his confession and especially in the hospital? Plus the excellent job that Basket has done with the nuances in other scenes, like how Sho can't hide his facial expressions when Yuu gives his attention to anyone else (especially Keisuke's and Jun's routes). And finally, in Sho's route, Yuu is too scared to talk to him about things - BEYOND what is considered 'normal' for people-pleasers.
It all gives me... like... "Dangerous Abusive Controlling Etc" vibes.
Not to mention the kind of trauma every character seems to have gone through. It's really hard for me to enjoy this wonderful story when I keep going "Oh, that looks like autism/BPD/trauma bonding" but that one's my own fault because I've dove too deep into that knowledge pool.
