There is a "final form" follow by a last health and gun upgrade and then Aliens just spawn and shoot more. The final form zooms out the game too so you see a lot farther but thanks for the kinda feedback! I didn't experience any of the control issues you called out but I am not surprised there are bugs they weren't not meant to add to the difficulty :).

I have read a few posts related to this topic and still unclear if my game I hope to make for this contest is acceptable. I wouldn't use any code, art, sounds, or music made before the contest started BUT I have done some planning on the game, put together a team, and it's based off an indie author's already published books but just the main characters and basic setting. I also put together a prototype of the basic features using the ultra simple game maker Construct 2 but wouldn't be using any art or code or even the same engine for my contest submission.
Basically, I have a team and a well thought out idea but no final assets or code that I would use in my submission. I don't want to rush to create this in a month only to be disqualified for a rule violation.
Thanks Thomas! This was actually a small project I did for an author I admire Robert Bevan. He did a crowd funding campaign to make a show out of his book series and used this game as a backer reward. Cooper is a half orc barbarian with a charisma score of like 3 and the voice clips in the game are done by Jonathan Sleep who does all Bevan's audiobooks. I was really happy with how it turned out and glad you enjoyed it.
I have been working in Construct 2 for around 3 years and you can see some of my games here http://www.bitmenworkshop.com/games/
Most of them were from solo game jams made over a weekend and I have tons of other prototypes. I have a few ideas for games but not set on any of them yet. I have access to discord as well as any other tools I could need for collaboration and I can work in a bigger group.
