Glad you're enjoying it. I was actively trying to make sure the Sun DIDNT change direction too suddenly so you could always reasonably react to its actions but trying to manage that while learning Godot AND on the two week time limit of the Jam was difficult, so apologies for cheap deaths.
Also the Crouch was actually one of the last things I'd added to the game overall so it got the least testing. The hurtbox seemed to be changing properly when I tested it at first, but code is weird and its always possible theres a bug with it I didnt catch.
Thanks for the feedback though. Its great to hear you're enjoying it.
Fun game but it does get a bit easy after a bit, even on the hardest difficulty. As you learn more methods for narrowing down options, you can often have alot of ways to solve a stage, and any given level actually becomes easier as it goes on. Might be a weird (and unfair) criticism, but other puzzles like Sudoku or Picross can still have you hit a wall where you dont know where the next block goes and you have to push your brain to find a clue. Here, it feels like you sometimes get too much information, and putting down pieces will just give you more info on top of that, but since the levels are randomly generated already, I can understand getting the same feeling across would be extremely difficult. Whats the difference between a hard to find clue, and a level that just flat out doesnt give you the info you need? I cant think of an answer but I wanted to bring it up anyway
Despite that part, the game was good. Cool concept, it was fun until the levels got a bit too easy, and I appreciate the dialogue before each level with some fun explanations for the gods and their modus operandi.
Cool game. Would like to see it expanded on
Though it would be nice if movement cards were a tad more clear. "Quickstep" seemed useless initially til I found out it meant you move instantly unlike the normal movement cards which werent fast enough to get away from bullets sometimes. FTL is also a bit weird cause It said "Warp" which made me think I could go through walls when it cant
Other than that, no major gripes that I assume wouldnt get fixed if this idea moved forward (more animation, ways to remove cards, etc.). Keep up the good work!
I wanna say first that the one preview there with the battle UI made me think there was a turn-based-battle thing at some point, but the page does say "Visual Novel made with Ren'py" so thats my bad. Its just a visual thing for a couple scenes so nothing big.
The game itself was very good though. Lucy's anxiety and slightly-autistic personality made her very relatable and the overall story of her getting a small bit of confidence was encouraging. Characters are cute and the third act even has a bit of tension behind it so I'd definitely say its worth the 5 bucks
