This is a really neat matching game. Here are some thoughts.

+ Pluses +

+ I like that the game is fast, there is not much thinking involved.

+ I like that you don't have to memorize all the matches to enjoy the game.

+ I like the pixel art. The original authors did a good job.

- Minuses -

- This game, on the DL version, crashes intermittently back to the desktop. I don't know if it's because I am clicking too fast or what.

= Suggestions =

= I would really like to see resolution settings added to the game. I want to imagine what the game would be like if played in Windows XP with the standard resolutions of the time like 800X600 and 1152x864.

Thanks for making the game XD.

No hablo español!
This is a good game it just needs more scenes.

First this is a really cute platformer. It has a nice feel and sound design but despite that I do have 2 concerns and critiques.

  1. The character feels too floaty for my taste. Even though the character feels floaty you have to be very precise in your jumps to make them perfectly. Because of both of these factors I often overcorrect resulting excessive falls.
  2. While floating on the air streams you should be able to float indefinitely. You should also be able to have better air control. Such as pressing the 'Up Arrow' key to float higher. There are also some fans that you can just fall through resulting in unwanted resets also.

Other than that, this is a nice game. Keep up the good work.

Just so everyone knows this game runs wonderfully with the Mesen emulator. In Mesen you can use a thumb or joystick to emulate what it would feel like if played in an actual arcade.

I would only suggest adding additional graphics modes such as mono and modes for people with visual impairments and color blindness. Things like adding darker boarders/better contrast in the background scenes especially in the buildings as they would appear washed out to someone with low vision.

It also runs wonderfully with Mesen.

Apparently there is another game in development on Steam called Pathogen X. I just thought I would let you know.

Wouldn't a sequel be neat. One where Santa goes to hell to pick up lost and stolen presents from Satan.

This is a nice charming little game. Thanks for making it. Here are a few improvement suggestions.

    1. In Windows make the game fill the application window. I've seen other Pico-8 games force the application window to the size of the active screen.
    2. Make any standard Pico-8 button restart the game after the player runs out of lives. This includes the arrow keys. This would make it easier to get back to the action especially for one handed players.
    3. Make the game remember your 3-letter alias when you have a high score. That way you don't have to enter it every time.
    4. Maybe have the high score screen appear over a replay of your last game session. Not in its own dedicated screen. That would make it super sweet looking.
    5. Maybe make the game appear safe to windows so that annoying blue pop-up window doesn't appear when running it the first time. Just saying.

This is one of my favorite Pico-8 games now. It is really chill, thank you for making it. I think it would be cool to make a Wolfenstein/Doom mod with this concept. Where the train ride/route actually ends, but you would have a few different routes and reverse routes to choose from. Maybe with different themes too.

First the harbor and ship look amazing, great job. Here are a few suggestions, if this game is still being worked on that is.

    1. I think the environment and gameplay lends itself better if it was based upon Assassin's Creed instead of Dark Souls, so please keep that in mind.

    2. I think the environment would look much better if it had way more buildings and trees.

    3. What's up with the floating ship in the harbor? A ship would sit way lower in the water.

    4. Assassinations from behind and a looting system would be a great addition.

    5. Interactive NPC's for buying items and starting and solving quests.

This is what happens when Retro Blazer, Chex Quest and Adventures of the Square had a baby. I liked the gameplay, the variety of weapons/monsters and the awesome time freeze powerup. For a demo level it was designed really well. I know that this level does not reflective the quality of the final game and level design but here are 3 suggestions:

    1. Don't give the player all the weapons in the first area of the first map. Make them earn their weapons/powerups as they play through the entire game. This makes it more of a challenge and gives the player more reason to explore their environment.

    2. The maps need more verticality; they feel too flat. I would like to see, deathtraps, steps and 3D floors for catwalks and walkways. This is designed using the GZDoom engine, so you might as well use its features. 3D floors and fake water are not that hard to set up in GZ/Doom Builder. Old versions of ZDoom even support them.

    3. I don't know if the game intentions are to be more retro or modern retro. If it's the former, you can draw a lot of inspiration from Heretic with its awesome set of powerups. If it's the latter, you can grant the player free movement by allowing jumping puzzles and platforming segments. This would give the maps more variety and take secret finding to a whole new level.

Did fans even work on the reboot, like they say, or are they lying to us. I downloaded the playable teaser from steam and I hate it. I am not going to watch hours of un-skippable dialogue and quick time events before I even get to the actual gameplay. That is just bad taste.

This teaser demo will scratch the itch that the official reboot will never be able to. You need a team to work on this NOW. The world looks beautiful and you seem competent enough to fully realized it. That is where you as an author shine the most. I do not like the character design and animation though. It's nowhere near the original look of the character and the ragdoll physics are unrealistic and too modern.

Despite my reservations I think you are doing a wonderful job and I wish you only the best.

I need help finding a retro browser first person shooter. Below is a link to my Doomworld thread for more details.
