heyo, on linux (i'm using arch with pipewire) the program does not detect the microphone if i run it as root.

So there's no way of using the keybinds to switch the images and also having the character move with the audio input :(

One workaround ideia i had that might be able to fix this is to make the app have keybinds that only work locally, on it's own window.

That should allow the user to use some external script with a program like xdotool to send keypresses specifically to veadotube.

With that working the user would be able to go on the configs of their desktop environment, setup a system wide hotkey to run the xdotool shell script and then it would work as expected.

Also i rlly like ur stuff, keep the awesome work up!

As soon as i'm done with my college stuff i'll start working on updates for the game.

I want it to be a complete game with a story and everything!

there is a gameplay tutorial in the game page, hope it helps!

I'll properly add that with a good menu system and various other settings later.

Very good game!

The UI and the gameplay are perfect, however, i think that the Visual aspect can be improved, it would be interesting if you added some type of light system, used the draw_sprite_ext() function in the draw event of the player to add a squash and stretch effect (this type of thing makes the movement feel a lot more smooth and lively), also would be cool to see some particles when you jump and climb.

Besides all that, you could also improve the pixel art and some animations generally, i'd recommend referencing the appearence of other popular games with the same sprite size or aesthetic, and also watching some tutorials from mortmort (i really like his color tutorial) and pixel overload on youtube.

Also if you want to get really good with pixel art i highly recommend checking out some of the art and animation fundamentals; Form, perspective, light, color (these are art), and for animation there is a good youtube video called the 12 principles of animation.

I know this is a bit too much but since you said you have no idea how to improve i decided to write a lot, hope it helps you!

Also sorry if i wrote something wrong, english isn't my native language.

The engrish language option was pretty funny ngl.

thanks for the feedback!

I really enjoyed the progression system and the skills you can upgrade are well chosen , the UI is very intuitive too!

Some things i think would add to the experience are that the colors could be more neon, the game could also have a bit of a screenshake and some particles here and there, also randomizing enemy health and speed between a certain range for each wave would make it more interesting in my opinion.

Besides that, awesome game!

I understand that you guys are my friends and want me to win and i appreciate that, but there is no need to say that the game is perfect when it isn't.

Just say what you enjoyed and what you didn't, besides that, thanks bro!

Thanks for the feedback, also thats a really good ideia , i'm gonna add it to the final version if i make one!

:D

This is really well polished! The Sprites look good, the animations are simple yet fluid,  the illumination is really beautiful and is used in a way that matches well with the jam theme,   that "3d, red and blue borders" effect that gets stronger with the bass of the music is dope and the UI looks good!

The only thing that i think could be changed is that the player stats take a bit too much screen space in my opinion.

Besides that, Congratulations, Perfect Game!

Thanks for the feedback, i'll fix all those bugs when i have time after the jam and release a new version of the game!

Thx, if i end up making a final version for steam i'll add options for other keybindings!

Got it! One of the movement scripts i wrote for the player has inertia in it, but i ended up not using it because it took control away from the player.

i'll try to mix the two of them the next time i make a game!

Thx for the review!

what makes it stiff for you?

Also thx for the critic (;

Thanks <3

About The game Controls

They are a bit unclear in  game, so i if you haven't played it yet i recommend you to do a quick read of the game page before playing! there is some useful tips there!

Hope it helps!

Hi , sorry for the controls being unclear!

I made a gameplay tutorial that you can watch in the game page , hope it helps!

Also thanks for the review!

Glad to hear you enjoyed it!

Hey,  couldn't put better tutorials inside the game in time for the jam, so i made a gameplay tutorial video , you can check it out on the game page!

Hope it Helps!

:D

yeah, i completely forgot to fix the dash, also the enemy health i could lower it a bit, however in some cases it is useful so you can combo-dash them!

I mean, the original idea was to be more of a hack and slash with various combos and heavy and light attacks, where a different combo trows the enemy on a different direction,  but i didn't have time to make various combos so i just left one and made it throw the enemy towards the mouse.

Glad to hear you enjoyed!

Also thanks for the critic, it helps a lot!
