Hey Dave C! Remember me from this game jam? I made the 'Unknown Force' game, and I have been working really hard on improving it! The new version is now called 'War Forge'. Thought you might like to try it out. Thanks! Hope things are going well.

Awesome game GearDrift! The music and pixel style go very well together. If completed this could make a really good mobile game!

After showing this game to my game dev club when we were going through all of the submissions, there is already one game being made by them that is inspired and influenced by this game, I can email it to you or post a link here of it if you want :)

@Dave C Yes the game has Xbox 360 controller support, and it automatically mutes the player one keyboard input, so as a solution I will have a notification pop up when a gamepad is connected. Thanks for the feedback! P.S The keyboard is riddled with cheats and experiments if anyone wants to try them out...

Great game! Got a tad annoyed with the backtracking though. The intro is amazing but the game doesn't suit its tone, particularly the bright and colourful aliens. It is very cool that the enemy sprites are randomized each time! Its cool how you can slide to get around faster, a nice little trick to discover.

Dave C, is there a comment approval system here? I spent a good 15 minutes writing a lengthy feedback comment and sent it, and I've come back after 30 mins and its not here so I'm panicking a little. Hopefully you got the comment :/

no game here?

Great game! Took me a good 2 hours straight playing it to finish every level! But the hard difficulty is from cheap bottlenecks in levels and enemies that come to you too fast (don't get enough warning/time to react). Only very few will fully understand how to use the player's constantly accelerating movement mechanics properly, so I recommend having the ability to accelerate & decelerate. Lots of content, great boss battle, enjoyed it heaps.

Very interesting game! Played it for a good 30 mins :) The world is laid out in a way that makes me wan to get to the end, and the drawn style reminds me of some of the old games I have made. The combat (turn sliders) are a bit slow, and th combat/moves arent balanced properly, as you can just run to the revolution spot, get a gun, then go from there. Was super surprised to be met by guards when trying to backtrack! Good job on this one, would like to see it be further worked on :)

Sorry to burst the bubble, but this game pretends to have lots of undiscovered content by its name, when really the items in the chest are uninteractable. Exit [esc] key doesnt work and theres two weird hotkeys (f & g) to set the room number to about 239 and the other to kill yourself. This could be a very fun game if worked on further, though!

Thanks for the feedback guys! Yeah I should have made it that the teleport/screen flash effect only happens when near the mysterious force, as it makes more sense and doesnt result in being teleported into the right of left spawn.

Love it! Very impressed with the bigfoot's fire spraying patterns... perhaps its randomized? Was hugely fun!

Mechanics (movement, shooting), animations, and soundtrack are well made! But this is not related to conspiracy theme in any way, has an incredibly difficult learning curve at the start of the first level (first set of spikes, and so much that after 15mins of trying still couldn't get past it), and originality takes a hit as I see the game as Rayman with a gun in Super Meat Boy Land :( With some fine tuning of progressing difficulty this can be an amazing game suitable for selling!

Cool game, level design and ending, but the start has a frighteningly sharp difficulty curve and crashes on the second level when dying (havent died on levels past that). Was good fun!

Nice game! The colour switching definitely keeps the player on their toes. If taking this game further in the future I would recommend having checkpoints at the start of each level.

Awesome game! Great Re-using of enemies in a way thats not boring! if you were to continue on it, I would reccomend adding 1 or 2 findable weapons :)

That is a good idea but if we had a revote, everyone will vote the same thing as they did previously. To have an actual change, the voters should be limited to only those that submitted a game, and Clickteam of course. This eliminates the potential duplicate accounts.

Not yet that I know of.

I know this is not helpful for calming down the community but I would like to direct attention to Macromaker's comment on area 52's entry page made a day ago. I don't want to enrage anyone by it, and this person could just be a troll, but is still worth pointing out.

I am more or less satisfied with the way that Clickteam is handling this post-results, but still think BadDoge can be booted out and replaced with Dave C with justification. A very important improvement for the competition next month would be to set the competition to be 48 hours of game making instead of an entire week, so that people don't get so attached to their submissions like we are now, and so that there isn't a huge gap in how much time some people were able to spend on making their game than others. If that and the voting system were modified, I would be happy to try these competitions again.

Yes I know, but if you read what they said, they thought that the system would weight their clickteam vote to count for 40% but instead only counted for a single vote.

Well said! I agree with every word. I think a solution could be that contestants don't rate games to affect their place in the competition but rather for constructive criticism; the judges get the full say in who makes the best games. There can be small awards/special mentions to those who rate all the entries and give a comment of feedback for each.

Here is my rant, copy/pasted here as well....: MNasons got 69 reviews by 'promoting his game to friends', so a majority are likely biased 5 star ratings. The adjusted (median) score is exactly the same as the raw (average) score, meaning there was only votes with all categories with one star and votes with 5 stars. So the legitimate votes would have all been 1 star (rightfully so) and his friends all giving 5 stars, where most people got 10-15 votes he outnumbers us with 60 (by 'advertising' but no 40 people all give 5 star ratings, so can confirm he used alternate accounts) and outnumbered us to the point where his score is on average 4.2 . This competition has been cheated! MNasons was collectively judged by my game development club to easily be the worst entry there was, what am I supposed to say to them now, that the very game has won by him flooding it with biased 5 star ratings, and all our efforts have been a complete waste of time? If this isn't revoked I may need to spread this competition's disaster so more people are aware of the undeserving 1st place winner. Clickteam, do something about this!

As soon as I played area 52 I knew that was the winning game... I am absolutely shocked that it is at 4th. There is definitely something bigger going on here. It is ironic our theme was conspiracy.

I can confirm that you had to enter the competition (registered, doesnt matter if you submitted a game or not) to be able to vote on the games, however outsiders can vote on the game's page that isn't connected to the game jam (for each game there is a page of the game and one of the game within the game jam group). But yes I do agree with the concern of people spam making accounts that give their game full 5 star ratings, but the staff that pick the winner should hopefully be able to easily tell any outliers because of that.

add me on skype and we'll figure out contact details for there, add tacoslayer13 (the picture will be a yellow and black striped ball) and same goes for anyone else wanting a potential game development partner :)

I'm interested, once I improve my game to a release-level quality (I will be using it as a portfolio game so will be doing it solo) I will be wanting to make a game in a team, as development is so much faster and more specialised. As we all basically know how to use clickteam fusion, my special skill I can offer is drawing pixel art sprites and animations - like those in my game (The Mysterious force). If anyone is interested or wants to post their own plans, please do!

Thanks for that link, installed the extractor program and used it on the RAR file successfully.Good game!

Last weekend I spent a full day and a half getting through to the end of all the submissions, I am amazed with all of the great games! Everyone should have a rating from me. Exceptions for SCIME, the mikees, and SiXWarALPHA that were unplayable/not available, and of course my own game which I cannot rate myself. I've got 8 ratings which is less than what I would have expected when stacked up with the better games, but the good news is all of us now have 5+ ratings which is enough to give us a good average of 5 stars in each of the three categories, so that we can be judged fairly.

Hi, I'm James M - From New Zealand (The middle of nowhere!)
I first learned how to make games in 2010 by learning The Games Factory 2 in a holiday course called Bubbledome, and since then have been self-teaching it as I go. After 6 years I have still not officially released a game, but am looking forward to improving my current submission into something worth buying! This is also my first game jam ever, after many attempts to do a Ludum Dare but backing out each time due to its strict 48hr rule conflicting with commitments; thankfully this game jam was more forgiving with the time allowed. As a hobby I teach and host my own game development club at my High School, showing students the ropes to making games through Clickteam Fusion, and encouraged them all to participate in this Game Jam! I am currently looking if any of them did any submissions and have found one so far. If any of our submissions win the [xbox] prize we are planning on dedicating it and its export module to the game dev club itself for everyone to use. I have played some amazing submissions by the rest of you and am wanting to get through all of em!
