Some members of the community and jury have alerted us to certain games that don't meet the criteria, as Dragonsproutling points, or were submitted just before the game jam deadline without much effort, seemingly to profit without putting in the work like others did. While we're open to addressing any misunderstandings, it's only fair to disqualify spammers or games that don't meet the requirements to ensure fairness for all participants.

It is not mandatory!

No problem! https://discord.com/invite/7NPXnBKq45 check if this works.

Community is more active in discord! We will check what is going on with the link on the description!

@everyone Try submitting right now despite not having the itch.io page finished as you will enter in time.

Then you'll have until Monday to better fix the descriptions. 😊

If you have any problem submitting you can either contact via discord or at bruno.moya@patient73.org!

Good luck everyone!

Please make sure to hand in your submission!

Thanks for participating on our Gamejam!

Attention @everyone participating in the Gamejam and those who have kindly provided feedback,

We'd like to address some concerns regarding the rules, particularly regarding registration. There seems to be a mistake in the text indicating that registration should occur on the Patient73 website. However, please note that to submit your game, registration should be done on itch.io at this link: https://itch.io/jam/patient73-gamejam-2024.

Please ensure that only ONE member of your team registers and submits the game on itch.io.

We have also taken note of comments regarding potential fake submissions in the game jam. We are currently investigating the situation, and our team member, @avraamgeorgiadis , will provide an update shortly.

Also we invite people participating on the Gamejam to join our discord server, where people are more active and you can get help from a careful growing community! https://discord.gg/7NPXnBKq45

With only one week remaining, we wish you all the best of luck with your submissions!

Thank you for your understanding and participation.

Hi! Thanks for participating on the Gamejam! As stated on the description of the gamejam, one of the main requirements (and very important ) is that the game does work on the web browser, thus meaning it needs to be exported to WEBGL or something. Currently we don't know if GameMaker 2 allows that, if it does and you are able to supply the main gamejam theme with the GameMaker 2 engine, then you can. Hope you understand!

Cordially,

Bruno

I'd like this to use this topic to remember you guys our main motto:

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Collaboration as our main motto!

Have you helped anyone on the gamejam, or shared the gamejam with all your friends so everyone can know about our movement? Send us an email at bruno.moya.patient73@gmail.com and we'll have that in count when reviewing your submission.

We want the gamejam to be a collaborative movement not a competition!

Hi!
The short video or demo is for everyone to easily see what your submission is about, but actually, all jury members will play every game.

Sorry for any confusion.

Thanks,

Bruno

Hi!

Thanks for asking. It is one of our main requirements, as we want the games to work on our web platform Patient73 so they are all accessible by the patients easily.

As long as the game is webgl compatible (works on a web browser) you can also distribute it other ways.

Thanks

Bruno

Keep jamming!

Using this topic to remember we are trying to reach 100 people on here by tomorrow's 28th of February as it is the world day for rare diseases! Share the gamejam with everyone you know!

We have answered that before on the discord server, hope it helps!

We have established more or less 1 Month, as we have 5 members on the jury and we supose we will have more submissions than last year's edition!

Dear Patient73 Community,

We have some exciting news to share with you! Due to a surge in last-minute sign-ups and in response to the limited promotion of our game jam by itch.io, we've decided to extend the duration of the event for an additional month!

We understand that many of you may have joined at the eleventh hour and could use more time to fully develop your games. This extension not only allows existing participants to refine their creations but also gives us the opportunity to attract more developers to the event.

By extending the game jam, our goal is to increase the number of participants and sponsors, creating a more vibrant and inclusive community of game developers. We believe that this will not only enhance the overall experience but also foster greater creativity and collaboration among participants.

So, whether you're a seasoned developer or a newcomer to game development, we invite you to take advantage of this extended period to unleash your creativity and bring your game ideas to life.

The new deadline for submissions is 2024-03-22. We're excited to see what incredible games you'll create during this extended period!

Keep up the fantastic work, and don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need assistance.

Happy jamming!

Patient73 Gamejam Team!

Hi! Interesting question!
As you may have seen by our gamejam description, we wanted this year to enfasize on collaboration:

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Collaboration as our main motto! Have you helped anyone on the gamejam, or shared the gamejam with all your friends so everyone can know about our movement? Send us an email at bruno.moya.patient73@gmail.com and we'll have that in count when reviewing your submission.

We want the gamejam to be a collaborative movement not a competition!

So, you see we have a community over here and discord that can help you out get some feedback for your game, and don't hesitate to do so! As fighting rare diseases, everything is about collaboration, communities and associations!

Keep Jamming!

Hi N4iN!

thanks for participating on the gamejam!

the game can be 2d or 3d, in fact if you check last's years edition, some submitted games were 2d.

Hope it helps.

Keep Jamming

If the final game can be played on the browser, for example the itch.io submission page, yeah you can use Unreal Engine!
Thanks for the information, we will update the description of the gamejam to add Unreal Engine!

Hi! Thanks for your message and joining Patient73 Gamejam!
Last years edition we only supported Unity 3D, this time we support Godot and Unity, as one of the main requirements is that the game works on the browser, so it needs to be exported to WEBGL.

We don't know if Unreal Engine supplies that requirement!
Any doubts I am here!

Bruno

Thanks for helping the community users!
