Right you are, description updated.
Thanks
Side scroller
Soldier with walk animation, also a sprite of his back for when he is holding the weapon
Engineer guys with walking animation.
Alien spaceship, 2 or 3 variations and no animation required.
Some kinda of weapon like a machine gun, it should be aiming up and also like in ~15-20° because it also shoots in an angle
The rest is just a one screen level,. 480x360
One building on each side of the screen , one is a junk yard and the other a hiring agency.
Missile in the middle, 1/3 of the screen height tops.
Background can be a big city on the other side of a river. Not so important.
A mother ship kinda like death star to destroy the planet after a certain amount of waves.
That's about it, whatever you can do to help really. Thanks.
Actually, I could share it here I guess.
In my game the player will be protecting Earth again a alien invasion. A missile will be built at the background to destroy the mothership. The player will have a few weapons to shoot the incoming waves of different enemy ships, scrap metal will be dropped by the ships and by selling it the player will get currency to upgrade the weapons or hire more engineers to build the missile faster.
That's the main idea I guess. Don't mind the quick sketch I made on my phone, it should give you a clearer picture tho . it's a real bad drawing haha
Haven't seen it before, but I googled it just now. It is like a crossword right?
My original thought was to give the player a timer and if you hit the letters on the right order it would give you more time to complete the game or if you get a minus sign it would take a few seconds from the timer but I thought it could make the game to challenging to also add a timer.
Perhaps I could add different play modes in the future .
Appreciate the feedback and thanks for playing it!
I found that if you stay on the corners and just jump to the closest letter is the easiest way to play.
I might include a high score at one point, should be able to make some space on the right upper corner for that if I delete the unnecessary plus signs.
Appreciate the feedback and thanks for playing it!
While play testing I had quite a few game over with just one or two letters left so I know exactly what you mean.
I might make the letters just change color instead of deleting it if I decide to make an update.
I guess the restrictions kinda limit your choices but it was the way I found to get more people opinions on something I made.
Appreciate the feedback and thanks for playing it!
Glad you were able to get around it, sorry if the description wasn't very clear but yeah you should avoid the plus signs as they will increase the speed of the letters. It could help you at beginning but once you get to the last letter it can make things quite hard for you.
I guess that's just the way I found to reach as many people as possible with the small amount of time I have to make something I really like.
Appreciate the feedback and thanks for playing it!
Is a fairly simple game, I guess that's what it makes it different from most submissions.
Yeah it is kinda of a progress tracking but I might add a best score as people has suggested, waiting on the other jams that I posted this game to come to an end so I can get all the feedback and perhaps make an small update.
Appreciate the feedback and thanks for playing it!
I wasn't sure if it would be accepted as gravity well since there isn't any complicated movement or calculation involved but that was what it came to mind at the the time.
Oh yeah, jumping to the neighboring letter and specially when you are at the corner is the easiest way to do it I think.
