Testing on my own device with a fresh install of version 3.22 and after deleting all the persistent data (found in CoquetteDragoon-3.22-pc\game\saves and C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Roaming\RenPy\CoquetteDragoon-1597701435 ) the next chapter was unlocked at the end of chapter one, and also was able to read by using the unlock function... I'm not sure what's causing the issue on your device, I've made sure it saves the persistent data after changing the variable for unlocking the next chapter. In any case, try deleting everything at these two locations, opening the game and pressing unlock and the chapters should be readable.

Possibly a bug, I'll look into it but haven't heard it reported before... In the meantime you should be able to press the unlock button on the main menu to add all the scenes/chapters to the main menu.

It isn’t really hard sci-fi in that way, it’s mentioned as a problem in the settings past but the humans of the present in the setting are engineered to be acclimated to space on a biological level, life in zero-g comes up more as a logistical/societal issue.

ah i have got the cause of this, i cleared out some unused text for the glossary that isnt implemented in this version and accidentally removed the text for cast page stuff that is reused along with it, ill put up a patch soon restoring it
