Hey! Just played it, it was great! Had a lot of fun spamming the dash attack exploding those lil suckers away.

Also felt really silly once I realized I could break the barrels for potions.

Thanks for sharing, cheers!

Oh I see. Well, for making scenes and maps through art programs I could recommend checking this pixelart software list curated by Lospec.

As for game-making engines or so, that's out of my field so I couldn't really provide you proper info on that matter. Perhaps check out Godot? Here's a list of resources from the Gamedev subreddit wiki. It covers several areas but including game engines.

I'm looking forward to anything you might make with these, cheers!

Hey, thanks! No silly questions don't worry.

If I'm understanding correctly, you want to print these for your tabletop games right? I think that's awesome!

As for what app or program to use, do you mean to set them up for printing or to use the assets to make scenes for your games? If the latter, then I'm not sure what the best answer would be.

For making the mockups shown here (and the assets) I used Aseprite, which is a pixelart program with a cost of 20 USD. It has a tileset mode that is really awesome for making tiles and mockups really, but I think unless you're going to take up pixelarting then it's probably not the most accesible solution to your question.

Another program you might want to try (and one I've used for more than a decade myself) is GIMP. It's free but it's not really set up for tiling or pixelart from the get go, it'll be a bit tedious if I'm honest (compared to Aseprite or other programs dedicated to tiling).

Anyway, apologies if I didn't get your question right! Cheers

Very gorgeous peb!

Understood, thank you for the feedback. Cheers!

Much appreciated. I'll keep improving these sets!

I am glad you like them! Cheers peb

I do have plans to add more directions. I only have to decide what to priorize for now: either adding more characters or animating more directions.

Cheers!

These are cute, nice work. I like the beetle a lot, but the dog is straight up the definition of a good boy. Just looks so content.

Awesome work peb! Love the orc, seems ready to scrap. Probably with or against the minotaur

Great work peb! I think reaching out into exploring your own palette is a good step even if you feel it didn't work out.

I particularly like the pink froggy, but I'm biased towards frogs.

Cheers!

Thank you for your kind words mikka! Please keep having fun, cheers!

I'm glad you like them! Thanks Peb!

Cheers!

Yes! I've been working on some in the 64x64 range. I'll tinker with it some more to figure it out, but it is part of the plan.

Cheers!

Those are some charming animations! As for the style, if you mean side scroller style then yes that is compatible with what I'm planning.

My intention at the moment is to take the proper time animating this set.

However, right now I'm working on a 1-bit charset and after I finish that I'll have to make a choice between working on an update for this one or preparing a LoFi charset, which is pretty much done I just want  to do some final polish on it.

Maybe this isn't what you hoped to hear, but I just wanted to be honest with you on what the future for this set might look like. I do appreciate your excitement about these characters, it's awesome that you would want to use them for your game. It really motivates me to want to keep working on it, so thanks!

Cheers.

An animation update is definitely in the works. Cheers and thanks for the feedback!

I’m quite thankful for your words nekrosuft!! Much appreciated!

Definitely know how you feel regarding that burn out. I think it's great you allowed yourself more time to do your thing! Great work, particularly like the tree and its fruit variation.

Haha much appreciated Peb! Cheers and I wish you a great and wonderful year.

Thanks! I think the next one I'm doing is an NPC and/or boss pack. It's been brewing on my mind for a bit so now I really want to do it.

But first I have some updates to do to the previous kits in the coming days.

Thank you! Appreciate it, also I wanted to say that the way you give perspective to your art is awesome and makes me want to do some like that as well! Cheers

Hey, appreciate your kind words!

Regarding character animations, at the current time I'm more focused towards continuing to expand on the kit series and so doing just one animation makes that possible as opposed to having to create multiple for each kit every time. I would slow down considerably I think.

However, I do intend to eventually add more animations. As for the traps, yes absolutely. I've been planning an update to the Doomgeon and I'm adding some, so if you have some suggestions let me know!

Cheers!

I don't have much of a plan if I'm being honest haha, but I'd like to at least make a couple more themed around a desert, the seas and some snow or ice.

My current workflow with these is really just going with a vague sense of what I want and then sort of figuring it out as I'm crossing that bridge. Actually, Doomcrypt was initially meant to be Doomdune but then I saw a tweet about some Warhammer vampires (I think) and just sort of turned around.

Ah you know what, I was thinking about maybe updating Doomgeon since I've figured out some stuff and feel I can improve on it with some of the feedback I've received from other commenters.

Hey Nosferatube, appreciate your comments. Cheers!!

Your Mini Medieval series is amazing! Makes me want to keep pushing pixels as well. Cheers and looking forward to your next work.

Thank you very much for your words Yuneek! Appreciate it.

Regarding characters, it is my intention to add more. I'm thinking of more forest dwellers and critters some with pointy ears and others with horned heads.

I'm also planning the next kit already: Doomdunes.

Thank you for the feedback Laby! I’ll take it into consideration for updates and expansions. Cheers!

Oh thanks for your kind words.

That’s awesome! I hope you have found the assets easy to use. Any feedback is greatly appreciated as well. Cheers!

Oh I’m flattered, thank you! I plan to expand on the series further so your words are very motivating. Cheers!

Thank you! That means a lot to me, appreciate it. Cheers!!

I see what you mean. I'll try to be more mindful of that from here onwards. Thanks!

Hey, thank you for your feedback. Regarding the tags, just a quick question if you could advise me on it, but I'm currently at 9 tags and it says 10 is the max. Should I remove some of the other tags?

Either way, thanks and I'll look into uploading to OGA. Cheers!

I had fun! I like the concept quite a lot!
