I would love to see more of these two!

Tbh, when I first saw this game, I didn't really expect much from it - the plot and characters seemed flat (especially with the young age of the characters), and the artstyle didn't really grab my attention either. However, as I played... I can't even put it into words. The formatting and pacing, the way the characters were fleshed out, the stories of each character... it's unlike any I've ever seen before (in a good way!!). The execution of the game is comparable to more well-known titles (Hashihime of the Old Book Town comes to mind as a game in the same genre, but it also has a similar feel to the much more mainstream Omori (and a little bit DDLC), and I personally even prefer this game over that due to its visual novel formatting that doesn't have much filler), despite it being free and without much of a budget.
Additionally, the romance aspect of the game isn't the main focus but rather each character and their individual growth and friendships, and the romance that is there is so, so, sweet. I love them all. The game has 3 routes (Itsuki, Sakura, and Aoi&Hinata) with12 chapters total. As you progress through the game, you jump between chapters and you unlock each chapter as you play (so it's not 100% linear, but it all feels connected as a lot of it is also backstory). Each route has 4 bad endings and 1 true endings, and if you ever get stuck there is an options in "Extras" to get help from a kind senior where Sakura (best boy btw) could help you unlock chapters or certain endings. That, or you could follow a guide.
But be warned: there are many plot twists, and even when I was finishing the game I was still a bit thrown off by the amount of plot twists that kept appearing. It's not a bad thing though - in fact, these plot twists only contribute to the brilliantly bizarre aspects of the game. I quite enjoyed the complexity of everything
Although the 15 endings were a bit overwhelming at first, they aren't that bad to get them all. The trick is to save, save, save!! Every choice, even though it may seem small, may create a big difference in your experience. Some create completely different endings, and some unlock new CGs with a scene that show the personality of the characters and reveal small tidbits about them. When I first finished the game with all endings, I realized I still had to go back and make some new choices to unlock some other CGs. There is a convenient skip button to skip through everything you've already seen, so it's not a huge deal if you forget to save.
Basically, don't judge this by the cover. PLAY THE GAME!! The music choice is great, the characters are interesting, the story is compelling, the writing is fantastic, and the art brilliantly ties everything together for an unforgettable experience. Even for those uninterested in BL or romance genres will find themselves fascinated by the mystery and emotional aspects of the game. I don't know what more I want to say without revealing spoilers and ruining any surprises from the game - just play the game and experience everything for yourself!! It's free, after all, you have nothing to lose.
PS. To the translator: I loved all the games you translated, good taste and thank you so much for the hard work!! Also, are there any other games by this author?? I loved this game very much and would love to try more.
Lol, (spoilers for aoi/hinata route) it is later revealed they are related by blood, aoi is his half-brother/nephew, so I suppose it is familial love (similar to Naotaro and Shinnosuke). They do care about and love each other, but it is never really portrayed as romantic (although you can interpret how you want). Currently, Sakura is the only one who explicitly stated to have romantic feelings for Aoi, and Aoi seems to return these feelings (the letter in the beginning addressing to him, being willing for him to be the one who receives the Lemures Blue, etc).
I downloaded this for mac and saved it to Finder and used The Unarchiver to open it. It then made it into a folder with the files: credits.html, Credits.txt, Game, NEW Walkthrough.txt, and titlecard.png. However, when I tried to open the "Game" file (that was an application), a message popped up saying "The application "Game" can't be opened." Do you know why this happens? I checked my system and privacy in settings and there wasn't a message saying that it was an unidentified developer, so it wasn't because of that.
