Thank you! Sent an email.

This game is cool but crashes if I try to reopen it after playing other games. If I delete the save data it will play again but still crash if I try to reopen again. I can send error/crash logs if there is a good email to send them to. The issue happens in both 1.0.0 and 1.0.1.

Hello again. I’ve had a few crashes and can pull the logs to share if there is a good place to send them. Also had a moment (in area 4? I need to double check where) where I immediately died on entering a room.

Didn't notice the update - thank you. I've continued playing and the game does get easier with time like you mentioned and being able to farm the first area for the first few upgrades is nice. That being said - I pulled up the original Castlevania to compare since I have a NES and the first three Castlevania cartridges. In thirty minutes I was able to get past the first three bosses vs just being stuck in a starting area for thirty minutes. I'm definitely familiar with difficult games but there's still a difference between difficult and feeling like you've lost time. Only leaving this comment because I see developers make comments along those lines more frequently these days and it's a bit of a pet peeve of mine. Sorry for the mini-rant. Thank you for the game :)

Agreed with other comments on the difficulty seeming high. With the game overs I’m still at the start of the game after 30 minutes. Along with what other people have mentioned it seems like the player’s mobility, compared to enemy speed/attacks, allows for easy damage and pit deaths.

I appreciate not dying since I'm just looking to try it out here and there casually! Some thoughts: I wonder if it's possible to have a "casual" vs "traditional" toggle as options when you hit the menu button on the playdate where casual leaves your stats where they are and traditional drains your stats and kills your pet over time. It could also act like a pause button when "traditional" players are going to be busy for awhile. Another thought: I wonder if counts of the food types you give your pet could also be stored to influence evolution trees. Looking forward to the update video today! Thank you for creating this and other great content!

Thank you for creating this - it's cool! One piece of feedback - it may be worth experimenting with font size and screen layout. Everything is pretty small, even after changing all settings to Large.

Ended up completing the game with 100% :) The game was great and I enjoyed all of the different animations and abilities. Seems like it was a lot of work to create!
I enjoyed The Wizard's Apprentice, too. I've also booted up before Conquest of Helios but haven't finished a complete playthrough.

SPOILER-ish?:

Thank you for the hint! I went back and realized I hadn't tried just walking into the statues to interact....I had explored the entire map again, tried exploring the rooms above the statue that was pointing up, tried every ability in different ways around the first statue and in the second statue room, etc.. Oops!

Really enjoying this game but stuck at 85%. I'm unable to figure out a way to the third key (the part with the statue hint?). Any other tips? Not sure if there is another way to message on itch.io.
