Ahh okay, that explains it.  Sorry about that.  Feel free to downvote it if you want, good luck with your game and thanks for trying mine out anyway!

Yeaaaah, so I just tested it on my laptop and I can totally see what you're saying.   The good news is both problems are related, but the bad news is that if it runs slow for you, you're hosed.  The game is not exactly optimized super well (obviously) and it runs almost entirely on your CPU.  Because of that, if your CPU isn't great, it will probably run very slow.  I was hoping that this wouldn't happen since on my machine it runs at a solid 2k-6k fps, but-of course-best laid plans.

On the two machines that I built and tested it on, they both had I7's and upper-middle range GPU's.

If you don't mind can you post your CPU specs?

The text doesn't go away?  Not sure about the lag...

Did you only extract the .exe?  It needs the other files that come with it to run.  Make sure to extract the while .zip to a location be fore playing.  You should be able to just play straight from the .zip

Not sure if you've come up with something yet but I can give some things that help me come up with stuff.

For one, think of the games that you like and what you like about them.  Then, try to see which of those things you want to (or can) emulate.  And then from there, put a twist on it.  Trying to come up with something out of the blue can be really tough so if you grab some things out of the air that you know you already like, it can make it a bit easier.  That being said, it can still be tough to come up with a 'good' idea.  But a good thing to keep in mind is a mediocre idea done really well is always better than a good idea done poorly, so if you come up with an idea that you like, but you feel you can do better it can be good to just get started and something really special might come to you later.
