The demo should be “playable” in browser for free, (there’s no interactivity so “watchable” Is more accurate) and the full version can also be run in browser at this link, once you buy the game and obtain a key: https://play.guyrpg.com

It was fun to hear about which things stood out to you! Thanks for making this :)

Play it in your browser! It works in mobile browsers too!

I really wanted to make a game where you could run around a multiplayer, .IO-game-like world, but with Pokemon-like gameplay and a more classic aesthetic. I've been working in on it for a year now and I think it's finally fun! I hope you like it!

Right now you can run around, say "howdy!" to other players, fight and catch wild monsters, and engage in PVP combat.

(Careful, your familiars cannot be revived if they reach 0 HP!)

Gameplay below:

One of my big goals was to keep competitive PVP play accessible, and avoid steep learning curves or huge time commitments. I've kept the battle system recognizable to games like Pokemon but reduced the complexity as much as I could. Also, Familiars max out at level 15, and you can probably get one there in 15 minutes or so by the time you get the hang of things. Move-sets and stats are identical among species, so you don't need to spend huge amounts of time searching for the perfect team.

Let me know what you think!

Oh no!!! I completely forgot to add that aspect to the description... may they rest in peace

Thank you! I fixed it to seed 76576 for now, since most of the seeds weren't as interesting with my current level generation strategy. I might work on that later?

Love everything about this game!!! The concept drew me in immediately, and the tone/humor got me hooked. Great art, great music, love the writing, fun character designs, and the puzzles were pretty satisfying to solve.

pop!
