I really want to say how impressed I was with the work everyone put in this month. I appreciate you all joining the jam and making it the success that it was. Give yourselves a pat on the back and maybe take a nap now.

This looks like an awesome mini dungeon perfectly sized for a one-shot or short adventure! Plenty of evocative descriptions without being too wordy. Good stuff here!

This game gets right to the heart of the zombie problem: are you bit or not?

A game of telling (actually) scary stories to each other. This seems a perfect game to play around an autumn bonfire.

Fantastic! The preview art looks great.

That is the spirit of any good jam in a nutshell! Thank you.

Cool beans! You can send me an email at coffeeallnightgames@gmail.com and we can talk details.

I love a good gate to Hell, and this right here is a damn fine gate to Hell!

We're going to hang out and work on our submissions together. Basically the best Halloween party in town.

Hey everyone, I decided to extend the jam until November 2nd. This is just to round out the week, and relieve a little bit of pressure anyone might be feeling.

Hell yeah! Some of my best work has been done for jams. There is a sense of focus that I don't always get when I'm working on something without a deadline. I believe in you.

Wow! I made this jam on a whim, because there just wasn't many TTRPG Halloween jams. I was expecting maybe a few people to join. We're up to 30 now! I'm so excited to see what you make, and thank you for joining.

Thank you so much! Feel free to report back when you get it to the table.

I had the idea of doing a jam hang over on discord. A bunch of us could hop on, and we can chat and work on our projects together for a few hours. Might be fun.

If I set it up for a Thursday evening (EST), would people be interested?

Aw sweet! I was only shooting for 8 levels. That's 2 bonus levels right there!

Thank you thank you

I'm going to share this on Bluesky. Do you have an account you'd like me to tag?

Woo! Our first submission! It's like a minimalist rendition of the original Diablo game.

One of the things I love about game jams is that they're perfect for perfectionists and procrastinators (I may check both of those boxes). You have 1 month to complete a project. You don't really have the time to get hung up little things or drag your feet. The important part is having fun and ending up with a completed piece of work. You'll be amazed with what you can do when you have to get out of your own way and just let the process happen.

Now you get see if I stuck the landing. https://coffeeallnight.itch.io/afterworlds

I was thinking about doing a game where shades are traveling through various underworlds to find a place where their spirits can find eternal rest.

Would using a tarot deck instead of standard playing cards be within the spirit of the jam? I'm aware that they are not as common, but I have some thematic ideas for them and just think they're neat.

Absolutely fantastic. The Mushroom Mary drink recipe at the end was a nice touch.

Thank you so much for the feedback! There is nothing a designer likes hearing more than that people are actually playing the games. I'm so glad you enjoyed it.

For multiple 6s on a roll, treat the extra 6s as Lucky Breaks (regain a die or clear exhaustion). The card suit is still the same as a clue the investigator is getting in that scene.

And as far as narrating the conclusion of scenes, I had intended it to still be a back and forth conversation between the players, but simply one that ends the scene and answers the dramatic question at hand. The Investigator gets to declare clues specifically. Upon rereading it, you're absolutely correct in that it isn't very clear. I may have to update this with some errata when I have the chance. This was the project I was trying to learn layout by brute force, and there's definitely some cleaning up that could be done here.

Thank you! I can't wait to hear about the weird stories your table cooks up.

I finally got this to the table and I absolutely love it! It has a very different feel than most OSR type games, and in this case the mechanics do a lot to support the themes in play. Artwork, color palette, and layout are gorgeous.

I highly recommend clicking that purchase button if you're interested in OSR or rules light games, but are in the mood for something with a little more whimsy.

Love to hear it!

Coffee?! Why in the world would someone tie their gaming brand to coffee..wait a second! *Checks own user name* Yeah, I'll check that out

Glad to hear it! Let me know how it goes!

Thank you very much!

Hey, thanks for throwing the party. I had a lot of fun, tried something new, and ended up with something I'm rather proud of. I'm working on a VTT asset pack of NPCs/monsters that'll be out shortly, as well as a statted up version of The Tomb of All Worlds for my own game, Heartbreaker. Looking forward to future shenanigans.

I'm very excited about this bot. However, I'm not able to find a command list. Is one available somewhere?
