I thought the intent was to use all three together, though the overview says to use "any or all of the material in whatever way you choose." I'm using all three but I expect elements from some covers will stand out more than others. Either way, I think it's very unlikely that your submissions would be the same even if you were given the exact same prompt.

Hey all, I'm super excited to participate! I've only published one adventure before, for 5e, but I love the style of Shadowdark adventures and I'm looking forward to trying my hand.

Are all the covers used in the competition in the public domain? I.e., can I reproduce them on my inspiration explanation page? Or should I try to track down that info for my covers on my own? Unfortunately none of my covers have years on them.

And do the cover and intro page count toward the 8 page limit? Does a map? I'm happy either way but thought I'd ask.
