Thank you for the notification! The submission is indeed for the Windows platform. I've updated the page and properly set the platform.

Nice Game and very original! I really like the easthetics and casual aspect of it. I found the rotation a little difficult to control. I may suggest a "mouse-look" to improve control in a future version :)

Hey thanks for taking time to play my game and give great feedback. Unfortunately, I cannot take credit for models or music. That was my first stab at a TowerDefense type game, so I learned a lot :)  Thanks for the great pointers, I'll definitely take them into consideration for my next games and maybe include them if I continue working  on this project on the side. Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback! Much appreciated.

Fun game, I enjoyed playing the game and felt the urge of quickly reaching the objective. The theme is consistent and the fact the level is lit for a few seconds before the timer starts strikes a good balance with challenge level.

Controls may be improved a little (unless they are done like this by design) it is easy to get stuck on a corner and lose the level because of this.

Overall fun game!

The Good:

  • Altough simple, the concept and theme worked great. It is really simple to understand mechanics regardles of age and cultural background.
  • The sounds were also very simple but very funny and after a while when more Cats & Dogs spawn it gets a good beat.
  • Controls were very intuitive and easy to use
  • The difficulty followed a nice smooth increase

The bad:

  • Maybe the game was just a little too simple, this type of game has a hard time keeping the audience captivated for more than a few minutes.

Final thoughts:
I got to enjoy the game and played quite a few more games than I thought I would. Good implementation!

(1 edit)

The Good:

  •  Awesome music, it did a great job at setting the ambiance
  • Great graphics, it was easy to identify the protagonist and enemies, nice job on walking animations
  •  Gives a great retro feeling when combining both graphics and music
  • The difficulty was well balanced as I must have died like 10 times before I got the hang of the controls. It did get the feeling of playing one of those tough NES games when I was a kid.
  •  Level was a good size and really enjoyable. Took about 10 minutes to get to the final boss and really got a kick at fighting the huge ghost.

The bad:

  •  Controls are a bit un-intuitive, but well mitigated with instructions on the web page (had to go back and read to find how to shoot). Might I suggest including the instructions for controls on the home screen.
  •  Shooting backwards is really challenging/quirky, as even facing back, the hero is shooting forward. You really need to walk backwards in order to shoot to the left.
  • At times the level felt disorienting especially in long corridors when there was no features to get a visual point of reference. I would suggest adding features (holes?) in the lower portion of the screen or in the background. (I totally understand we have to limit the scope/features due to time constraints during a game jam!)

Final thoughts: Although it had some minor flaws, I really enjoyed playing the game. Great game!

Thanks!! I definitely learned A LOT.  Found myself cutting 60% of the content to finish it in time and have a little sanity left to go to work tomorrow :)

Nice game. Reminds me of old text based adventure games. The graphics and ambiance certainly makes a strong impact. Found myself playing longer than expected and always wanting to get a little further. I will certainly come back to it later. Also helps raise awareness on suicide.
