Your RAM might be maxing out or your browser is being funky, try closing any extra programs or tabs you don't need. You can also download the game standalone via the download button on the itch page or the itch launcher to bypass the loading screen completely.

Thats... odd. What method are you using to download the game? the itch launcher or through a browser. If so, what browser?

1. Do you have any anti virus that could be deleting it without your knowledge? 

2. Is your storage filled up? 

3. Your browser might be saying that its deleted, but it might just be that it forgot the path to the download. Open up file explorer and check the downloads folder. Assuming that the downloads folder wasn't changed, it should be there.

4. Are you downloading the game on a network that is not your own or on a computer that's administered by your school or work?

The dev updates mac and linux versions a day or two after the windows version. If its not up yet it should be later today or tomorrow.

Very interesting io game concept and pretty fun, although I would have liked to know that familiars die permanently before my beloved snake died ):
