Really creative idea! I also like the visuals a lot, especially the color schemes. Simple but very creative. I would say that the movement of the sushi from left to right could have been more snappier and fast but that might just be personal preference. Nice game overall!

Jumping feels nice, difficulty is quite high (pun intended). The visuals needs some polishing but nice game :D

The gameplay and hammer physics actually feels nice. I was confused at the beginning regarding the controls but after a while I got used to them. Killing enemies is quite satisfying! Overall cool concept

Hello there,

Hope you're having a great day! We're a team of 11 gaming enthusiasts prepping up for the GMTK game jam from July 7th to 9th and we need a few more players on our team. Right now, our team includes four programmers with industry experience in game dev and software engineering, a talented UI artist, couple of brilliant sound designers (one of them has some serious industry creds in game music), an experienced 3D artist and 2 plyatesters. Even though we've got quite the crew, we're missing a few key roles. Here's what we're looking for:

  1. Artists - If you've got skills in 2D/3D art, especially in level/environment design or character art and animations, we could use your expertise.
  2. Playtesters and QA - Got a knack for spotting the tiny details and enjoy playing games from a critical perspective? We need you too.

We're not just any team - we're a collective of passionate game dev lovers looking to create something amazing. If you're ready for some serious game jam action, and want to be part of a driven and friendly team, we would love to have you onboard. Feel free to drop me a DM for any more info or queries. Can't wait to start this journey with you all!

A solid 2d platformer that is enriched by its shiny but simple and retro art style and by its creative mechanics that really makes this game a very fun experience for the player. Not something that is revolutionary or the gaming community hasn't seen before but you definitely nailed this concept in one week. I really liked the flow of the game and how the movement of the player was done.

On the other hand, the level design felt very minimalist and easy. It didn't feel like something that would stimulate your brain or make your life harder in any form or shape. Also, some small bugs here and there like: some platforms would have weird movement while moving or player's cloud animation which is situated under his feet bugging out while the platform was moving down.

Overall, grate experience and hope I will see more updates form you soon.

I want start with what I liked about the game. It was very funny to see that the main character is a cube police and it rolls whenever you jump in the air. The shooting mechanic was pretty decent.

On the flip side, I can appreciate your ambition and I hope that my constructive criticism will help you in the long run, but the game wasn't that fun to play, at leas for me.

Firstly, the jumping and moving are a little bit wonky. I found it very hard to not get hit by the bullets of the enemies (you can look into more videos on how to emulate gravity into a 2D platformer.  There a plenty of them).  Moreover,  another problem I have encountered was with the shooting. Apparently enemies can shoot through walls and vice versa.  The main camera is also something that breaks the shooting as it moves away  from the player in the opposite direction.

Secondly, the "Try again" screen feels to long for me. In my opinion it, would have been easier and not for the one who plays to just instantly restart the game or at least have an instant gameover screen.

Our intention wasn't to create an "extremely difficult" game, so we will definitely look into the "difficulty" aspect. The main idea was to incrementally increase the difficulty as the player reaches longer distances.

On the flip side, really glad that you like how the game turned out in the end.  We really think that, with some improvements and adjustments, we can make this game playable for almost any skill level.

Thank you! It definitely needs some juice in there. We tried to keep it simple  and not overdo things as it was our 2nd game jam. This is still something that is on our "to do" list after this phase is over.
