I wish itch.io had a refund option.

It's an interesting game in the same vein as Princess Maker, but the heavy RNG really kinda ruins it. The game regularly places you in situations where it really feels like you had absolutely no choice that could've saved you, or situations where you'll be three hours into a playthrough only to LITERALLY DIE because you were a few points shy on one of the game's 14 skills, and the overall feeling genuinely does give the impression that you need to plan out the exact points and where you put them months in advance, but not in any way that makes sense. For example, you can't compensate for being bad at one thing by being better at other things, and despite the game telling you to pick which people to woo and which ones to ignore because you can't please all of them, some of them will kill the princess if she doesn't please them and the game gives you no indication as to who it will be or when it might happen.

Overall, it's an interesting approach to a niche genre, but the level of RNG coupled with the lack of guidance and the fact that one mistake can throw hours of play right out the window without warning just adds a level of completely unnecessary frustration.

I found a bug.

Spike scale doesn't give spikes when it's adjacent to a shield unless you have another item in your inventory that also adds spikes, like a rose.

Arrows don't trigger damage on spikes, though. I was able to kill him with an archer build because of that, unless the most recent patch changed it of course.

The "King" enemy needs severe rebalancing. The only build that stands a chance of beating him is an archery build due to his spikes and regen. Basically, if you get bad RNG and he's the boss and you're not a ranged build, you might as well restart.

Is there a reason you made the game so much harder early on with the last update? Seems unnecessary.

I really hope they overhaul the way curses are handled in the game. It's a creative idea, but either there needs to be a limit to how many you can get in a single combat or they need to change it so enemies don't spam curses every turn.
