Regarding your question about Kiara's hair: each choice offers a small amount of "affection" points for each of the characters, but for Day 3 specifically, you get a massive boost in points depending on who you call/invite over (This is to help players "lock in" a specific character for Day 4). I think you might've got the highest amount of points with Kiara regardless of whether you invited her over or not — which might explain why you got her again in Day 4 ^^

As for translating the game into other languages: it's currently on hold right now as 14DWY is a free game, and I don't have the funds to pay people to translate it. I also make a lot of changes to the dialogue with every update, so I'm sure it would be annoying for the people who have to translate lmao

Does this error still occur when you start a new game? And have you deleted all your previous save files (or any older versions of the game)? This error seems to be tied to loading outdated saves, so my only recommendation is to make sure you've deleted all your 14DWY data, re-download the newest version from Itch, and start a new, clean save T_T

With that being said, have you read this devlog yet? It lists a few common errors found in Day 4 and how to fix them.

You can try to load an old save, though I can't guarantee that you won't encounter any bugs or issues. It's better (and safer) to start from the very beginning and skip all the way to Day 4.

Also!! Depending on what version of 14DWY you've played in the past, a lot of new updates, changes, and additional content have been added to days 1-3! It might be worth replaying — especially if it's been a while since you've last played and need a refresher ^^

I genuinely don't know why this bug is happening??? sjghsdgs ;v; My only guess is that it might be pulling data from another save file?? Because Ren doesn't have any flags or toggles during that scene that would warrant him to change his hair/outfit.

Regardless, I'm glad you were able to fix it — and thanks for bringing this issue to my attention!! I'll be sure to keep my eye on this bug ^^For now though, I'll just pretend that Ren wanted to spend his free time at the hair salon lmao /j

I don't want to spoil any of the endings, but I will say that I've talked about [REDACTED]/Ren's real self on Tumblr hundreds of times (if you're interested in learning more)! ^^ Also, finding out about [REDACTED] will be one of the main focal points of the storyline, so it won't really have much importance/impact as an ending.

If you run into a black screen with shaking text (and possibly a jumpscare), you got a Dead End. If the game progresses or you run into the "end of the demo" screen, you got the normal endings ^^

I originally reduced the amount because it felt too cluttered and unnecessary — and because some of the choices don't really have much impact/difference on the storyline (so I didn't see a point in saving all the time) ^^; But!! • There's going to be a bit more than 14 days in total. I have plans to include an epilogue, DLCs, and additional scenes/filler content.
• 14DWY is a passion project for me, and between university and work, I unfortunately don't really have much time to work on it. So there's no ETA on when it will be finished! I work on it whenever I can/feel like it :3

There's a WIP walkthrough/guide in the 14DWY Discord! But if you'd like to get a different ending for day 4, either:

• Refuse to stay in the closet with Teo
• Or go home (instead of staying at Ren's place)

If you choose to stay at Ren's place, you'll get the Dead End no matter what. Any choices made before that don't really matter!!

No, your save files will carry over to the latest version.

However, I do really recommend deleting them as they're usually not 100% compatable with every new update that comes out.

Clicking "rollback" will just revert the game back to a playable moment in time; it won't let you bypass the error. Clicking "ignore" will let you bypass the error, however, it's likely that it will crash the game as well.

aaaa I'm sorry, but I unintentionally removed the ability to emulate 14DWY on other devices because people were using it for nefarious purposes (such as emulating it on 18+ websites without my consent, using my game files for AI purposes, using 14DWY to trick people into installing their own shady emulator apps (which were often laced with malware and viruses), etc.)

Yes, please delete any previous versions/downloads before downloading the 4.0.7+ version! ^^

You can get him back by replaying the game or by clicking on the trash icon in the main menu!! A secret option will show up.

Hiya!! I'm sorry this is happening T_T Can you try deleting all previous versions of 14DWY (including Day 4, Day 3.5, Day 2, etc.) from your computer and redownloading the newest version again?

Old save files won't work as well since a lot of the code has been updated, so you may be better off deleting them (or saving over them).

It's in the FAQ section on Tumblr, but [REDACTED] won't show up until Day 7! Whether or not his sprite remains the same (or changes back to Ren) will depend on the choices you make ^^

Hiya!! Is it possible to take a screenshot of this scene in particular (or possibly replay the demo and write down a few of the lines for me to reference)? ;w; To my knowledge, Ren does not mention the word "avoid" at all, nor does he ever accuse the player of avoiding him.

However, like someone else previously mentioned, Ren does have a similar line where he says, "...Why are you hiding from me?" — though this is in reference to the player hiding away due to how off-putting the ending feels. This particular Dead End is also obtainable during Days 1 and 2 as well, so even without this context, it wouldn't make sense for Ren to accuse the player of avoiding him if they were together for the entire day lmao
