Well, first of all I think this thread should be in "Help wanted or offered" and not here. But while I'm here let me get in on this. I'm not very experienced though, mostly do unity 3D scripting , but can learn other engienes. Anyway if you want here's my discord : DaCluwn#3573

thanks, your game is really fun too. I didn't finish it yet, because I keep dying, but I like it

TLDR: Good game, but it can be better.  This is a good start, so don't give up.(probably wasn't  planning on it anyway)

In general this is pretty fun game, but there's a few critiques, so to say, they are somewhat nitpicky, it's nothing game-breaking, and it will not spoil the expirience.

  • First thing that caught my attention is how slowly healthbar was decreasing, I thought: «Well...this is made so game wouldn't be over instantly if you can't find right person". But later I noticed that when I reap, it doesn’t seem to affect my healthbar that much. I think it would work better if health drained a bit faster and restored more on killing (maybe I misunderstood mechanics and reaping souls temporarily stops health from draining? In that case nevermind.)
  • After my first run I looked at my score. After some expirements I found out that every kill (no matter the target) costs 1 point, and that if you don’t take any damage and don't kill anybody you will have 133 points (atleast that's what I got). Being hit makes big impact on your health, and your playtime, so the best way to get points is to hide in corner and wait. Increasing points for kills can help a bit, even better if different enemies give different amounts of points. (While it's the "best" way, it's not really fun. Player will most likely play as intended, because main purpose of game is to be enjoyable, so it doesn't really matter). This also connects to my next point.
  • Police isn't aggresive enough. Yeah , if you stumble upon them they will try to attack and chace you(even trough obstacles). But you can run away quite easily(you will most likely run into other enemies though) or , if you are far from spawn points, hide from them. It would be better for police to patroul the area is search of player. But I wouldn't say it's your fault, I think it's due to short time frame you were given. Making good AI takes time, and I assume you're a beginner (This jam is oriented towards devs who're just starting out...Well I joined under that impression).

And that's about it. If you're not nitpicking or trying to maximize your points, it's pretty fun, enemies could use some work though.

P.S. I am not a native english speaker, so sorry if my grammar is bad.

what are 3 categories resererved for judges? just curious.
