Interesting game. I do believe the game has potential.
A couple of things I would like to note from my play through on web version:

  • The lack of a life bar certainly makes things difficult, knowing how long to kill the boss.
  • Another thing I noticed, is that the rage bar gets depleted on a successful attack on me
  • Something weird I also noticed is that if I am not careful of how I approach the boss, I will collide with something that will push me back.
  • There seems to be some weird mouse behaviour when the itch.io game is in the smaller window compared to when you make it full screen
  • The attack animation is pretty slow in getting ready for the next attack, and the player has to wait for the animation to finish to launch the next attack
  • The attack window seems pretty short, you would have to be incredibly close to get the hits in
  • To me, the art style does not match the gameplay. You could lean more towards a cartoon-ish art style or more ps1/ps2.

Interesting idea and gameplay.
Visuals are pretty calming.
Game is atmospheric.

Thank you for your feedback, we had plenty of fun making it. We would have loved to add a bunch of features which sadly had to get cut to make the submission.

As for the bot model, it is GDBot by GDQuest. Unfortunetly we were not able to make our own model in time.

Keep at it brother

Stylization is a topic in and of itself (been looking into it). But Otherwise you should see some inspirations or references.

You can still make it non combat or mostly non combat.
However that could be a challenge.
You can add combat as well and non combat , a healthy balance of sorts. However in the case the world and and environment will be key to help this. Along with having character to meet or interact with.
There are mangas and some anime that I have see do something similar, but it has been a long time since I last saw em.

There is also the mech designs and setting that need to be considered.
How will long distance transportation work? (Will you ride the mech on the inside or from outside?)
Are interaction while on/in the mech different from not riding?
What are the different areas and regions you can explore and what are the different customs and enemies in each?

Interesting concept.
The game looks pretty great, awesome mech.
I played the web browser version.

- The cursor moves /rotates the player when there are not enemy spawn which make it feel kinda weird and we dont know if there will be enemies coming alongside.
- The WASD dont seem to be working, or they should be working when in combat not certain.
- The enemy health doe not reach 0.
- The train stops too abruptly it should slow down or have enemies slow it down, which can add some urgency as if the train stops more enemies can spawn to attack.

I like the concept.
Would like to see where you take it in the future.

There is a noticeable difference from the art style for the player which leans more cartoon/anime vs the more realistic style of the environment, Try and see if you can find either a middle ground or lean more towards on direction.

Solid foundation for interesting game and mechanics, although not much in the way of activities or gameplay loop.

Screen resolution not sure if this is something that has to be edited in game but the default resolution is not ideal.

Quite large environment to move around and calming music.

Love the concept.
Would like to see where and how far you can take this project and the story/idea behind it.
