I recently picked up this game to add to my ever-growing collection of erotic games, and was glad to see that it was available for MacOS, as I primarily play on my macbook. Unfortunately, upon downloading the game, it didn't launch. Fortunately, I recently went poking through the files of another RenPy game, so I knew how to show the contents of the app, and knew just enough to realise that the Game, Lib, and RenPy folders that were included in the .zip file, as well as the .sh and .py files should have been in the contents of the app, and managed to fix it quickly myself.
Having played the game, I really enjoyed it, and think it would be a shame if people download the game, try to run it on MacOS, fail, and give up. So, I've compiled this handy step-by-step guide to fixing the ReEducation-0.49-market.zip MacOS application.
1. Unzip the file and open the ReEducation-0.49-market folder. Copy the lib folder, the game folder, the renpy folder, the ReEducation.py file and the ReEducation.sh file to another location (preferably one which you can open in another Finder window or tab).
2. Right click (or CTRL-click) on the ReEducation app - this is the one with the RenPy logo of a pink-haired girl wearing an explorers hat with a snake over her shoulders - then click Show Package Contents.
3. Navigate through the Contents folder, into the MacOS folder. Copy the lib folder into the MacOS folder.
4. Go back to the Contents folder, then navigate to the Resources folder. Here, make a new folder called autorun, and open it. Then, copy the game folder, the renpy folder, the ReEducation.py file and the ReEducation.sh file into your new autorun folder.
5. Go back until you are back in the ReEducation-0.49-market folder. Then, run the ReEducation app, and it should open properly!
I wish all my fellow Mac-using, porn-game-enjoying friends a good time playing this game, and I hope that this guide becomes unnecessary after the next update - which I am looking forward to with bated breath.
